Something to bare in mind about combat earning is that its fairly low expense. You make enough money for upgrades, fuel, repairs and ammo, with a hefty profit of about 100k for an hours work. Yes a cobra can make 4 times that with trade, but the large ships cost more so i guess thats what you are saving up for. But i agree with based on one thing. If you wanted to get a conda through a purely combat career, how is that achievable?

I'm making enough money from bounties, thank you, from 100k to 200k each run. and i just stop in case i get cocky and try to get more, since i still have enough ammo for a lot more.

The game is what you make of it yourself - which leads me to the conclusion that it's you, not the game...
What's the point of this thread? Why do you feel like you need to tell a bunch of strangers that you're quitting the game?
So tell me why would i do anything else..eg. exploration/mining/bounty hunting. Trading in my Cobra makes 100kCr in 10minutes. And when you get to the level where equipment is 1m cr and ships are 6m cr there is nothing close to trading to maximize your progression into the game. They seriously need to BALANCE other parts of the game to make it worthwhile...
Maybe give credit bonuses when you level up to a certain rank because at the moment its a <snip> trading grind..

Im not playing the game to make credits and get a better ship, I'm playing it to have fun.

It's only a grind if you want it to be. I'm still having fun in my cobra and type 6.
Because, I don't know, you enjoy it more? I don't see why you're so fixated on earning credits. Earning credits is a tool which opens up options in this game. It is not the aim of the game. The aim of the game, as with any game, is to have fun. If you're doing something that isn't fun, stop doing it. Nobody is forcing you to only trade and not try other parts of game.
