The game loader sometimes does not start the game

What can be such a problem:
Sometimes when I try to start the game - nothing happens. In the Task manager, I can see that the launcher is running, but the game is not. I can try many times to press the start game button but nothing will happen. After restarting the computer - everything is fine and game starts. That this does not always happen. However, sometimes it happens. What is it?

Any number of things could cause this, usually OS issues or any third party programs/drivers or even AV infact it's an openended question and answer that is very difficult to be concluded so is a process of elimination on your part.

I don't know if it will help but if you "Run as Administrator" that overcomes some of these "not launching" issues - but since it works sometimes it probably isn't that.

FYI
might be worth connecting via vpn when having issues, if the game starts every time via vpn, that may mean the typical route your data takes may be bottlenecking at one of the amazon aws ec2 server relays this game uses...…………….. stop signs here instead of ticks may show these bottlenecks or bad throughways to your area\region http://ec2-reachability.amazonaws.com/ a vpn tends to use an alternative route hence getting round the stop signs.
if you have all ticks you can rule that out as a problem
Elites EC2 servers are physically located in Ireland then relayed world wide

Using Windows 7 If ED is installed on a system C: drive in Program Files (x86) then "Run as Administrator" is required to launch needed files from the drive. Another issue is antivirus/malware apps blocking the launch of these files. I use Webroot which detects changes in an update then conveniently asks me whether to block or allow access. That is my experience. Either way the problem is typically some local software blocking access to the local startup files. Running options/validate game files from the ED launcher can also resolve or detect which app is causing issues. Turning off a few in Task Manager Processes and Services will usually figure out which one.
