The game needs a log-off timer. Holy christ.

So we've all seen it before. Player gets in trouble, and instead of running, he hits alt-f4 and vanishes. I can't believe this made it to release actually, I'm pretty disappointed. The player should stay in space for 5 minutes if they log-off un-docked, hands down. If you want to play in open-mode, you don't get to alt-f4 like a coward.

5 minute log off timer is way too long, maybe 20 seconds. I log off all the time in space to switch to solo play when I can't dock with a station due to too many players. They really need to implement a docking queue first.

I have to agree or make it automatically death with a bounty added
Since I started playing yesterday, the game crashed on me about 3 times. That means I would have lost 3 ships and have a massive bounty on me if you got your way. I support a log off timer, but it should not be longer than 20 seconds.

There is currently a log off timer, but sadly not for if you kill the task. If you log off normally, you've got to wait 15 seconds if you're in a combat situation. I wish there was something for if disconnected on purpose though.

Have you made sure all your drivers are up to date? Are you in combat when you crash?

IF you are on a laptop. Check the dust issue. I know a Mechanic son who had this high end laptop. 2 graphics cards and high end cpu. But forgot to blown out the fans. When I told him blow it out. It ran better.

That ones computer crashes often cant be a reason to not have this mechanic. Since release i havent crashed a single time. I think some measures can be taken to see if its at least the network that stops sending data and thus not punish the player for it. But pressing ESC or killing the process needs to keep the ship in for 15-20 seconds. If ones pc crashes often then you have to get it sorted (not directed to anyone specific, just in general) because having people just alt+F4 or turning the pc off to get away is not good. It takes the Dangerous out of Elite. We see this mechanic in most if not all MMO's. Online games where you are in an open world and that has PvP.
