The gauntlet has been thrown down, what!

There it is, on the floor, what!

What do you mean you can't see it? Damn your eyes sir!

It's there, what! Yes, on the bally floor in front of you, what what!

So you can see it? That's better.

Ok, here we go, what!

My nearly fully modded Asp E is worth 33 mil, however as a pure combat vessel it is somewhat lacking, what!

I have thrown down the gauntlet to the community to profer up alternative vessel builds that are shall we say 'not so bally awful at combat, what'!

I don't like to fight in an AspE myself, though she can defend herself quite well when cornered. Are you looking for a Res/CZ Fighter or an Underminer?

Forgive my Imperial bias, I know there are plenty of good ships out there and the Vulture is a beast. But I have always preferred the iCourier for hunting. She's more of a Bird of Prey. However, if you do not have the Rank and you already have the cash, the Vulture is the tried and tested answer here.

But just for academic reasons, my current iCourier. She's an Underminer. Note that I try to keep her Fuel Tank under 50% capacity:

For Res/CZ, trade out the Pulses for Multi's, trade the Railgun for a Beam, and drop the FSD Interdictor, Chaff and Heat Sink Launcher.

Ok chaps, I have purchased the Vulture (positively disgusting name, what) and kitted her for a bit of aerial slap and tickle, what!

Tally ho!

I'm in Cubeo in the conflict zone(s) if you want to fight alongside me, old chap

Sorry old man; running around trying to find the right bally power plant, what!

Shouldn't be too long, what!

Chin, chin and may I venture a toodly pipsky also, what!

I knew the AspE wouldn't satisfy you for long, as I previously stated on paper it seems like a fine combat vessel, but in the field she just lacks where it counts. The flat and wide shape makes it easy to hit, and the bubble of glass that makes up the cockpit is far too fragile.

I fly an iCourier, myself, painted blue and christened "Cheval de Bataille". Dogfighting with her is such a joy, you can tell the ship really wants to dance and hunt down the enemies of the Empire. She is agile, quick, sleek and beautiful. Truly a refined machine for the refined gentleman.

The Vulture is of course, a great option. Comparable to the iCourier on many levels. Though I do hear the Vulture suffers from power management issues owing to the two large hardpoints, but if that were such a large issue then it wouldn't be that popular of a combat vessel. Best of luck to you, sir. May your lasers strike true, and first.

Not sure of your faction standings, but have you considered Imperial or Federation ships? Some of them are pretty good in combat and a nice alternative from the common ones.

I fly a Courier for nearly everything I do, got an Imperial Eagle for a challenge when I want to mix things up, and now a Clipper which I'm using for the Fuel Rats goal, but it's nowhere near being A Rated.

This is what i fly for combat. The H.M.S Void Walker. She has never been to the Rebuy screen (as of yet) theres no need fo FA off as a boost turn will do a full 180 in no time. all the way up to the clipper i flew an ASPX and i loved it, however the clipper is so nice to fly that even no i have had conda's, FDL's and the like they just never felt as deadly as this :D http://coriolis.io/outfit/imperial_clipper/26A6A5A5D6A5A4C1e1e27270404040lB03c2b2b29292727.Iw18aQ==.EwBjYRhCd3XCYQ==?bn=H.M.S%20Void%20Walker

I've been fiddling with my Vulture build for a while, and this is where I've ended up:

The power situation means compromises need to be made, and where you make them is kind of down to your personal taste. I hate losing the half a klick range from dropping my KWS from C to D, but I hate having my FSD powered down in combat more. If you're strictly RES or CZ hunting you won't need the scoop or Interdictor but I'm doing a bit of a tour trying to get my Fed rank up and travelling anywhere in the Vulture without a scoop is a massive pain in the fundament. For ages I was running two chaff launchers (with only one powered up at a time) to increase my loiter time, but I found that I really like the second Shield Booster with the Biweaves - combined with the incredibly tough hull and the Vulture's agility it just makes her an incredibly tough nut to crack.

Other than her canopy, obv. But you've been flying an Asp so I'm sure you're used to that. :D

Tried 'em both, prefer the bi-weaves. I gain less than 10% shield capacity going to the regular C shields, and I find the reduced recharge time more valuable for RES hunting and CZs where it's all about quantity of targets rather than quality.

I'd probably use the Cs if I were doing more bounty missions.
