Ships The Grind between the Type-7 and Python/FDL

Is anybody else finding that there needs so be some ships priced between the type-7 and the python/ fer de lance? I know that there are trade routes that can grind out 1-2million creds an hour but your still looking at between 20 and 30 hours game time till the next ship.

(Which is a month if you're time poor like me)

And there is the Clipper with more cargo space and decent combat capabillities (just not at the same time).
To be honest I don't see what's so bad about taking one month to the next ship (OK, I don't like the T7 so a month in it would be bad). I think I spend at least 40h in my Cobra.

Yep it sucks, I suggest getting your empire rep up and purchasing the Clipper over the T7. Much more diverse ship that can swap between cargo and combat. The Clipper is faster (=safer), carries more cargo with almost no downsides when compared to the T7. Overall it is a better investment than the T7. The only downside it has to the T7 is needing the Baron rank to get it.

What is the link between a T7 (pure transport), Python (multi-role) and FdL (combat) ?
Don't see how you could put a vessel in-between.

A T8 between T7 and T9, perhaps.
Something between Asp and Python, no sure.
Something between Vulture and FdL, no (Vulture is already as good if not better than FdL for combat purposes), except a long range Vulture which would be overpowered.

Instead, you can slowly build a fleet with a T7 (for space trucking) and/or Asp (for multi-role) and/or a Vulture (combat).
This allow to play as you like instead of grinding, learn a lot from different experiences and once at least two of this vessels are correctly equipped, you can resold them to buy a Pyton or FdL or T9.

This right here is your problem, as long as you look at it as something you need to "grind" you'll never truly enjoy the game ;)

I went:
T7 -> Clipper -> T9 for Trading

The Python costs a lot more than the T7, has marginal more space and can land on small plattforms.

At the very least I would like to see a non faction ship added in the dropship clipper price range. preferably a multipurpose ship. Also, as I feel the vulture is a better ship for general combat, (the FDL shines in a few specific roles), I wouldn't mind seeing another combat ship added in the 20-40mil price range.
