Purely from an ED perspective, I find this news somewhat reassuring.
I had private reservations about the ED budget, while under no illusion that the sum of the KS was the sole budget for the game, I have a fair idea of the kind of money that a AAA title costs to develop. While ED is still not in the league of games like CoD, funding-wise, this move validates the assumption that a healthy sum is being invested above and beyond the KS.
I do see ED as being FD's flagship (software) product, and the optimist in me hopes it'll do for FD what WoW did for Blizzard.
