The Guild of Galactic Traders (insurance)

There has been yet another thread closed about players who prey on the weak and have no social ability to negotiate.

Anyone that is allied to a faction is fair game really in my book, although I do negotiate or advise if a CMDR looks new to the game and in a small ship, but the traders who are not allied what about them?

Who is going to stick up for the traders?

Suggestion:

If there was a guild (which you would need to pay a weekly payment to join) anyone killing a trader in the guild should loose merits and/or have a wanted that actually works in practice, so that elite NPC's are dispatched to hunt down the player who committed the crime also the player who lost their ship posts the bounty (paid by the guild) at stations in the area for players to take the mission, there should be a rank and 'clean' qualification to go through to accept the mission.

How do you find the player that committed the crime? Well there could be a tracker that automatically fires at the ship that is attacking you and this shows up on radar and on the galactic map, this also helps other players see if there is a major criminal near by.

Other benefits from the guild (for a small weekly payment) - lower insurance payments and cargo insurance.

The Elite Federation of Pilots (of which all players are members) is supposed to take a dim view of its members attacking / destroying each other.

Up to now it has not flexed its power over those who transgress. Maybe that will change - in time....

Maybe the Elite Federation of Pilots needs to assign "criminal ranks" to those who warrant it instead of, or along side, trade, explorer and combat....
