# The hills are alive, with the ....the .... @#!$+%&!!

This clip is from EDO with update 5. I've been enjoying Elite since its debut on the Beeb but Odyssey and its immersion are just so broken in so many ways. I am moving on to an alternative game today even though it is not ready yet. I'll check back next year and see how things are going.

Olmy.

Thanks photomankc. Afaik there is nothing unusual in my settings. I googled to see what settings could break Odyssey's terrain rendering but nothing came up.

Im not disputing the video evidence nor the possibility it could be just bugged up but I would delete the graphics settings and start over and maybe jam the Terrain work slider up higher. Though that looked like it was keeping up just fine but in an extremely small radius around you.

Didnt mean to come off snarky, just to say that I certainly don’t see it behave like that and if you do I’d wipe out the GFX settings and give it a fresh go.

I see a very minor version of that in the SRV with very small changes happening to the terrian as I drive in very rough areas.

Uh. Something aint right in your settings. I see a touch of that here and there but nothing at all like that.

This is very similar to developers always, always, always, always blaming the infrastructure first.
"It's not the change I just made to the application, something MUST be wrong with the server or database."

See, just because it didn't happen to you yet, doesn't mean there is a problem on his end. Especially when the current state of the game is: "a huge mess full of bugs everywhere".

I understand people trying to defend the game and saying that they are enjoying and think it's fun, even with the bugs. But these problems go from game breaking to just annoying. There are so many that you can take your pick on how to categorize them.

What needs to stop is people coming here to undermine reports and say "iT's WoRkInG FiNE. It mUsT Be yOu!"

EDIT: BTW, I did mean to come out snarky on this one. Not sorry.

Haven't seen you this busy since the last launch, old chap!

You might want to consider outsourcing a bit. :)

It's chaotic isn't it pal! There is an "I'm leaving" thread that I haven't even got to yet too...

In terms of outsourcing, are you interested in any part-time employment? Pay rates are nothing special, but there is a lot of joy to be found through customer dissatisfaction?!

I’m not defending the $&”);ing game or the development or its bugs. Simply stating he might give a shot to something to try and see less of it. If it doesn’t work it doesnt. Don’t give 1/2 a wet dog turd if you are sorry, offended, or otherwise buttmad that I didnt just post “OMG this game sucks”! In unison with you.

They will get to fixing this after they get to adding gameplay, and recruiting someone who knows how to design UI, oh and getting rid of whoever it is that thinks Elite is the perfect game type for a FTP grind wall trashcan whose sole measure of success is how long they can keep you on their hamster wheel. Imagine sitting in the design room, and hearing someone explain how the endgame is relogging for trash to make your trash less trash to do nothing with. When a junior designer pops up and says "how about adding lost civs way out in the black" he get's told to sit down, he's new, grind is gaming.
