Here is another interesting article from Retro Gamer magazine dated 2012. This is a retrospective look at the Elite series and alludes to a new project in development that was to become Elite Dangerous. A nice way to spend your Sunday morning or afternoon with a cup of tea. Or even while you are parked in a space station somewhere in your ship of choice.

Cheers for posting this. Love the comment 'If Frontier was released with chocolate all over its face, this [First Encounters] went out with something way worse than that'. Also, (Regarding the journal system in FFE) 'As with many things in [First Encounters] it wasn't fully realised' [Insert comment about 'History' and 'Repeating' here].
