The Hunt Clue We Missed

(I also Posted this on Reddit, so no plagiarism)

So in the Games-con Braben Interview 4 we are shown a surprisingly clear cinematic scroll showing ship wreckage, a damaged white cobra, and (Presumably) an alien ship. Considering how these set of interviews pertain deeply to The Hunt, this must be another clue.

Now one thing we as the community know is that Granger was spotted flying a White Cobra, and I have come to the consensus that Granger most likely is the damaged Cobra in this cinematic.

Now I believe that this also shows "The Incident" the Hunt Characters have been hinting about, or a part of what happened to these Characters. This also is extremely likely considering the dialogue thus far from these Characters, but that's not the most interesting part.

This Cinematic gives an extremely good image of the system the "Incident" occurred in...

- A an O or B Type Star System(Most Likely)

- Close to a Red and Pink Nebula, I believe it is either the Crescent Nebula, Cat's Paw Nebula, or the ETA Carina Nebula so far

- The system has (Most Likely) its own blue nebula, or is extremely
close to a blue single system nebula

In terms of a Galactic Scale these facts really narrow down the possibilities of this system's location and with enough effort we can find it.

Plus, if we do find this, this would be massive in terms of solving the hunt, and would be the first system we can confirm aliens have been in.

So guys come help the search! (Literally all you need is a Galaxy Map and a keen eye!) And help solve this mystery, and immortalized in elite lore ;)

Happy hunting Guys! o7

MB already said the (blue) nebula it's in is pleiades, as it's getting recoloured next patch. On phone so can't search easily, but check the ua thread

I read this, had a big sigh of regret, and then thought, "Geez it is more fun to look than to find..."

Great thinking there!

I had some similar thoughts several days ago, and posted on the UA thread with some comparison images and a bit of logic to determine the general area of the system in the video:

Michael Brookes later replied to the post there confirming that it was indeed the Pleiades that was turning blue, meaning it is highly likely that's the general area we're looking for. I asked for some help finding the exact system and a few CMDR's joined in to help me out. We found some systems that were very close to the system in the video by comparing the position of the stars:

However, the search isn't over! It seems there is no blue star in the region of the Pleiades that matches the exact position as seen in the video. It's quite possible that star positions might be changed or new stars added with 2.2, or perhaps the shape of the Pleiades nebula will change given the correction to visible light, meaning we may not be able to know the precise location as of yet.

I hope this helps!

I just got the Pleiades and I am in a nebula locale that has a distinctly blue main star and stellar sub-systems. I logged off there last night with a view to surveying the system completely tonight. (Sorry but I can't remember the name of it and I will be keeping that information to myself when I go back into the game later today; at least until I have the system surveyed and can report back any interesting stuff).

So what's the deal (in other CMDR's opinion) of the cryptic CG listing with all the binary and numbers?
