The Ideal FDL Hardpoint Loadout

Huge Multicannon - low capacitor drain, no spool up time, great weapon to destroy their hull
pulse lasers - to destroy their shields. You have 4 weapons that need your weapon capacitor so pulse laser because it is the most efficient weapon.

4 pulses and huge MC awesome efficiency, and with the MC upgrades through engineers make the Huge MC extremely potent.

But you can swap that around run huge beam with a mix of pulses and/or MC's but I dont like the spoil up for MC's and I find the huge beam too inefficient.. But thats just my view.. some people love this build.

Because of the firing arc horizon issue of belly mounted weapons, I tend to use a hit scan hard point in the C4 slot.

Usually a beam laser. Fixed if I'm sniping med-large ships. Gimbaled if I'm mostly fighting small ships, though I can nail the small ships with some small effort.

For the mediums, I tend to use either MCs or Missiles. Heat seekers if I'm hunting police to get my bounty up. Or undermine.

Missiles can disable an enemy's hardpoints fairly quickly of they are lightly armored. A good investment if you can restock them quickly. Or if you are mostly doing assassination missions.

The build VJ suggested works too, but I find it inefficient unless you're hunting bigger ships. 4 pulses can drain a capacitor in the blink of an eye, and do only slightly more DPS than a C4 beam.

I have gone the 4x Pulse with the Huge MC. I had waited so long for that MC thing that I am very attached to it. Lol. Before 1.6/2.1 dropped I had some real success with the four pulses and a fixed huge cannon. That cannon just hated modules. It would simply not tolerate a Power Plant to exist. Of course this is simply for PvE. I would use more kinetic weapons in a PvP build to take much of the drain off my capacitor, letting me shift pips to shields, for a longer stretch of time.

Huge beam and quad multi. Ran with large beam and quad multi in 2.0 already, the huge one packs more of a punch. The multis shred any ship at close range.

I'd go 2 pulses, 2 MCs, 1 big booty beam.

I prioritize the shield damage personally.

The disadvantage of your build is that it suffers from damage reduction against large ships, damage reduction from using beams against hull, and I can only imagine how quickly that huge beam heats up your FDL and drains your capacitor.

MC's can do a number on shields. But, in a PvE situation you shorten your combat time using only kinetics. The 5 MC build is great for the PvP. You are really pip free like that.

I haven't experinented with too many setups but 1 huge MC, 2 medium beams and 2 medium frag cannons is very effective for PvE.

After trying a few new loadouts I settled for the huge fixed beam + quad gimballed multicannon loadout.

Even with the damage reduction against large ships, 4 medium multicannons are still capable of dishing out more damage than a single huge, and are absolutely deadly against small and medium ships.

The huge fixed beam does an insane amount of damage, and with proper pip management you'll rarely encounter a target who shields can survive a full capacitor. And once I get it modded it'll be even better.

Plus, the huge fixed beam does more damage than quad gimballed pulses, and is immune to chaff. :)

Huge beam and quad multi is what I'm using after playing around with different builds. Shame add I used to love the triple plasma double shotgun build.

1 medium 1 huge fixed (Efficient) pulse 3 gimballed (Overcharged) multi.

Maximum damage per energy.

people are saying use the huge multi-cannon but if you look at the huge MC stats you see they are lackluster...

huge multicannon, 2 bursts, 1 beam, 1 seeker for res - huge beam, 2 cannons, 2 multicannons for cz or huge pulse, 2 medium beam, 2 multicannons...

No love for PAs anymore VJ?
