The Imperial Corsair, hear me out...

Look, I know this has been beaten to death, bought back, and beaten again for good measure. But I NEED an Imperial medium sized ship. I envision the normal Gutamaya flair. I would sketch it, but I'm certainly not an artist. I envision a smaller cutter, but with the circular-ish "spoiler" from the ship kit. The ships 4 nacelles would be connected to the main fuelsalage with long swooping wings that start about 3/4 up the fuelsalage in a swept back design, keeping the nacelle pairs decently close, but with enough distance to really give it an edge in maneuverability. The flagship speed would come from a singular large drive centered at the rear of the fuelsalage. The hard points are placed in a Halo design, 2 med behind the cockpit placed close together, 2 more mediums slightly foward of the cockpit one on each side(port and starboard) and one large under the nose. This ship should be decently quick, just over the FDL in top speed about 415 stock A rated and just as maneuverable.

The Imperial Corsair. Gutamaya's response to increasing tensions with the Federation and the rising Thargoid threat. Codenamed "Amenadeil" during the development stages, the Corsair is based on the new "Halo" architecture from Gutamaya. This combat focused ship features 4 stern nacelles connected to the fuselage with the usual swooping, elegant grace Gutamaya is renowned for. The nacelles take a feather from Lakon's wing, rotating in tandem or in opposition to aid in the ships rotational power, albeit sacrificing some of Gutamaya's flagship speed. Gutamaya is also proud to announce that this new ship is the smallest form factor in the current line up that will be capable of equipping the Class 5 Fighter Hanger, increasing battlefield presence for those dangerous VIP escorts and system defense situations. Earls may contact their local Gutamaya shipyard for ordering details.

Give it a class 6 slot for the shields (because Gutamaya) and trade two of the medium hardpoints for a large, and I'd buy one :)

The only medium ship with that many internals (and none of them restricted) is the Python. If those 3X4 optional internals aren't restricted, I don't see it ever happening for a dedicated combat ship. With the 4's being military modules, it's actually comparable to a Crusader then, but with better fire power, better shields (presumably, being Gutamaya), and faster with one size smaller thrusters. Not saying that's a bad thing, as Crusader use doesn't suggest it's over the top.

I'd love to have a medium Gutamaya, and overall like your idea!

Tricky one as it shouldn't really be better than the clipper (so it doesn't make the clipper obsolete) - so it'd probably have to be large ship too.

But yeah otherwise I like the idea...

If they make a medium imperial ship ever they better make variants lol. Because everyone wants something else.

Me I'd ditch the fighter bay. Make 2 if the class 4 optionals military slots. 2 L hardpoints centered in top, 1M hardpoint in the nose and 2 more medium one on a nacelle of each side. Up a class 5 optional to a 6. Trade the class 1 optional for an additional utility slot. And then finally any tacky wings or spoliers be part if a ship kit and not the original design.

With a name like Corsair you would expect it to be able to carry a half decent amount of booty. Yours couldn't carry booty and pirate load out.

Change the name and it might look more legit.

Edit: I obvioulsy cant read.

It looks great. Ill buy one.

The reason I didnt give it a class 6 is A:it must have fighter bay (personal pew pew + basking reasons) and a class 6 feels like too much for this ship. B:I thought giving it bigger shields may make it too desirable over FDL if it's going to be faster and equally maneuverable. I didnt specify military slots because that's for people more adept at balancing to decide. Im no ship design pro, I just felt like it was a solid build. I would love, adore even. Having 2 large, 3 medium with the large tight behind the cockpit and the 2 mediums remaining just under the cockpit on each side and 1 medium under the nose. Itd be perfect that way, to me personally. But I dont know how that would fly fps wise compared to other ships. I want this ship put into the game, not just dreamed about what would be the perfect ship. So it needs to have its balance and place in the game
