The Killer App I Want

When I'm at work, I don't have access to my gaming machine. I do have the Internet, however. During breaks and lunches, I'd love to be able to look at the galaxy map / system map, via a web interface to see those things as I see it in-game.

With that ability, I can research systems, look for mining sites, check navigation routes, see what bases are there and where they are located, etc. Then I can go home and get straight to flying with a plan already made. If I could log in with my CMDR, I could see and move bookmarks and see my position info; ship/friend locations, etc.

Third party tools like Inara & EDDB do fill in some of the holes, but things like how a system is laid out, stations/outposts, sub-faction allegiances, need to be pieced together from several different pages and it's cumbersome to assemble an overall picture.

The Elite galaxy is already on the web, I'd just like to access that info in the same format that I see it in-game.

Advantages:

- I can send links to galactic coord & systems to other CMDR's in the forums for quick reference
- Available to anyone interested in getting the game (Great marketing, showing how large the galaxy is)
- Accessible anywhere there is Internet.
- Galnet article review
- Could check CG progress
- Thargoid activity, mapped by system. So we can see where the little blighters are active to encounter or avoid them. :D

I think this would be a welcome addition.
