Odds are, no matter where in the world you might be, you've probably at least heard of The Hell's Angels. Just in case there's any doubt, The Hells Angels are a premiere Motorcycle Club, at least on their commercialized public face. Theirs is a sordid history of a classical motorcycle gang. The Killer Whales, in contrast, are Elite's premiere Saud Kruger club, made up of all walks of Elite life. Everyone is welcome to join, we have very few rules, regulations or restrictions. Violating the spirit of the group or flagrant violations of the very few rules is grounds for dismissal, but we certainly hope that we can keep the peace and be civil among ourselves.
Enough of this though... let's get down to business here.
Not everyone is a combat ace, tireless adventurer, master merchant, or even all that great of a pilot - at some point in time, however, we all have to land our ships. That's where this challenge comes in to play, and here's how it works:
1. Record yourself landing you ship.
2. Submit a link to that recording.
3. Include the following information:
a. Star System
b. Planet or Station
c. Latitude and Longitude of your landing site.
d. Issue a challenge in your post to make a landing at a location, System, Planet/Station and Latitude and Longitude of the landing area.
4. You must successfully land your ship, at the location you issue as a challenge.
5. Flight-Assist does not need to be turned off, nor does rotation correction - you can even use a docking computer, but they generally don't do you any good landing on a planet.
6. This is the Big One : You must make your landing in a Dolphin, Orca or Beluga.
If you do not own one of these ships - you've got plenty of time to get one - this contest will run for as long as it needs to - though the end of the year if necessary.
This is not a video editing competition, we only need to see you land. This does not mean you may not make edits, but obvious edits to alter the outcome of the video are in violation of this competition, as are efforts to subvert the spirit of friendly competition. Clever or funny video edits or showing off your production skills will not effect the finalist selection - the difficulty of the landing itself is what will decide the winner.
What constitutes a difficult landing? Landings while taking weapons fire, landings on extreme terrain, landings on extreme terrain, under fire, on fire, or anything equally extreme. Pancaking is not a successful landing - but can be amusing.
Let's see what you've got!
The most extreme video will be featured on the Killer Whales website.
Speaking of the website - yes, it is still a work-in-progress, but it is coming along nicely.
