The Krait MKII - where is the antenna?

Hi CMDR's

I loved the new Krait, amazing ship like Star Wars, but I've found something strange in that ship. If you look up inside the cabin, you can see a kind of antenna on the top of your head, but if you look from outside, the antenna desapear. I know this is only a detail, but if FDvs want to make this game better, they need put more love in their work and pay attention.

My question is, when they will be fix it?

o7!!!

(sorry about my english):)

I make an video to show if you can't find the antenna:

This antenna mounting point is simply not present on the exterior of your ship. I've looked very carefully and there is nothing that fits that description mounted above your cockpit. That is extremely unusual given that any parts of your ship exterior that are directly visible from inside your cockpit should also be visible with the external camera. Most likely it is simply a bug that will be fixed at some point and we will then see the antenna mounting point.

There is an antenna on the outside which is visible from inside the cockpit when you look up. Seen it myself. When I first saw it thought, wow that's a nice little detail. I'll check from the outside next time I'm flying the Krait :)

In VR, it appears to be a component that is inside the ship (i.e. within the cockpit, not exterior-mounted). Probably too small a detail to waste graphics power on for every Krait in your instance, so they just didn’t model it.

IMO, the Anaconda still has worse issues. See that big horizontal spar behind the hardpoints in free cam? It ain’t there in cockpit view. It was in 2.2, but vanished one or two releases later.

It's really strange because there is absolutely nothing in that position on the exterior of the cockpit when using the in-game external camera. However when I look at the in-game Krait model in detail (i.e., whitebox/greybox model) there is a very clear component mounted at the rear upper edge of the cockpit which is the antenna mounting point. It's a small slightly triangle-shaped part with antennas on the front of it that clearly corresponds to what you're seeing when you look up in your cockpit. My theory here is that there is simply an issue where the textures for that part are somehow missing in the external view but the geometry likely still exists and is "invisible" in the external view without those textures being correctly applied. It is however also possible that the cockpit geometry that the player sees is distinct from the cockpit geometry that is rendered from the outside of the cockpit and in that case the 3D geometry for that component may not exist at all in the external view.

Taking a look again at the loading screen model I can't actually see this part rendered properly either but it's hard to tell if this is due to the model being rendered in a single color where the antenna mounting point would not be clearly visible against the background of the cockpit canopy when they are both the same color. It is most likely going to be fixed at some point but in the meantime it does create an unusual situation where there is literally a missing component on the outside of the ship.

I noticed that as well. It looks pretty cool from the cockpit too. A pity. Hopefully they fix this in the future, and keep the antenna rather than removing it altogether.

Could be. I'll check it out, see if I can get a screenshot of the cockpit view. I use VR so should be able to look up and get the shot.
