The latest horizons dev video..

..showing the SRV cockpit view, bouncing around on planetside..how's that going to feel for us vr users? I know from iracing sometimes when open wheel racing it's common to have your car bounce and even flip over another car, and it can be jarring. I'm a little concerned that the sharp cockpit rotations as the SRV bounces might cause nausea :/

Aye gotta say, me too.

It looks awesome, don;t get me wrong, but I am a bit (selfishly) concerned it's gonna be nauseating and as a result a whole section of ED's gameplay is gonna be off limits as a result.

Even without a vr headset it looks (and feels) a bit "stomach churning" for those of us on the more sensitive end of the scale for in game motion sickness.

Got to agree, as soon as i had seen the video I thought that ain't going to feel so good in VR. But to be fair it might not feel to good in real life either
Looking forward to giving it a try though

just drive slowly or carefully. I'm a VR user and I'm sure it will be fine. I will be in control of the vehicle so i will be able to limit what the vehicle does to what I'm comfortable with.

I've been rifting for around two years now myself and have solid oak vr legs, with the 3rd day after getting the dk1 the last time I had any kind of nausia, and to me even just watching that video gave me a small lurch. It would be a pity if we are reduced to driving carefully in the SRV when it clearly looks like loads of fun ripping around in. Let's hope that it's not the case.

well ok what do you propose as an alternative? It seems to me that would be making the SRV behave like its on rails and riding over a perfectly flat surface all the time. Doesn't sound like fun to me.

Lets face it guys, If you're riding over a bumpy rocky surface, you're gonna get some bumpiness...

And you're probably going to get a bit of motion sickness, until you get used to it.

Not sure how to minimize that..maybe super soft suspension, but that might make it worse like you're in a boat. It would need testing. I wonder if any of the devs have tried the SRV in vr, and how it felt.
