I had concerns that the central server wasn't giving me any other commanders in my local island/instance, so I stayed up really late last night (West Aussie ... UTC+8:00) and copied out my "netLog" files as I flew.
As it got around to UK evening time, I did start to get 3-4 other CMDRs on the scope at nav points. It wasn't what I'd call busy, but it was really stable. No rubber-banding, no dropouts. Comms worked.
I can now jump to LP 98-132 without getting "You have been disconnected from the server". It was bad over the weekend - just that one system.
In the "netLogs", I used to see "Carrying on bravely in the hope that nothing breaks" messages repeatedly... and it used to NEVER recover once it hit that. I saw that a lot last night, but it recovered from it... so there are definitely less dead-end states catching out the client now.
There is still the issue of supercruise NPCs being "eaten" when other players leave the island... but I've spotted diagnostic code in the 3.05 output that is specifically listing the intended handover of those NPCs to the clients remaining in the instance. Tells me FD are now hot on the trail of that problem.
I'm looking forward to the weekend. Last weekend, on 3.04, I saw around 10 other CMDRs around the core stations, and in supercruise. I wonder how it will fare on 3.05.
