So, you wanna' build the Elite Dangerous LEGO Cobra Mk III 2.0 designed by The Real Beef1213? Got 16,300 LEGO pieces? No?
After building the ultimate Millennium Falcon in LEGO Digital Designer (The actual kit 75192 costs $799.00 with 7541 pieces) I took on the Cobra. After two weeks I've completed it but thought to put together a partial build package for those who are crazy enough to attempt this. With my computer/graphic hardware LDD at high resolution started bailing out at around 11,000 bricks. So I created all the builds in exploded files then copy a build item to the final assembly at a lower resolution. Still after figuring out how all the outside panels are fitted one could delete interior builds to get a h-irez outside version.
Here's some pictures to see all the build items needed to put the ship together. LDD building guides never show everything so figuring out all the inside pieces one cannot see takes some creativity. As an ED player when I'm awaiting for the next update it passes the time building LEGO ED ships. Anyway here is a ZIP file with LDD support to help others. They include the full LDD files plus png graphics versus the jpg versions I posted here.
Then I added some updates. As the basic build has 16 beds for passengers maybe we'll need a kitchen and an entertainment area. Also add an SRV, a cargo canister and upgrade the cockpit. I included build instructions for both the SRV, cargo canisters and cockpit upgrades. Maybe you can improve on them
Here's a closer version of the SRV.
Anyway have fun playing with LEGOs while we await the next update.

cobra mkIII 2.0 from BrickLink
Well its finally here. This ship took over a year to build. It has over 16300 pieces, is almost 5 feet wide, would weigh over 60 pounds, and the part price count would be well over 4000$. I based it on the cobra boxed editions interior: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLmk648niJ0As always there...
