The life of a grammatical pedant

I am in a quandary.
3,000 Ly from the bubble and last night whilst looking at a pretty gas giant I realised I had spelt my ship name wrong.

This sort of thing really bugs me. So do I go back to the nearest station and correct the error, or do I stick some gaffer tape over so I cant see it and continue my journey.

At least my journal can begin with "The expedition of the misspelt ship".

I could care less.

Commiserations. That's the kind of thing that would bug me to no end. Three Kylies is not that bad but it depends on whether you can stomach the spelling mistake for a huge amount of time or not. I know what I'd do (I've gone back for less :D ).

The can be no misspelling of a proper noun. A name is spelt exactly the way the namer spells it.

Embrace the typo. When a pedant points out the unusual spelling of your ship at the next cocktail party you'll have a story with which to break the ice.

Embrace the freedom that escaping the grammar brings...
....or contact support and as them to change it for you - bit dull but in game you could pretend that you went on a spacewalk and changed it like the opening from Red Dwarf.
Whatever you choose, don't forget to go back to the original station and sack the signwriter!

Which way are you going? There are many stations a few thousand light years outside the bubble, just enter your current location into here where it says reference system; https://eddb.io/station

And it will give you the closest one. Keep in mind some station don't do livery so you will need to check that once you have found your station.

As for spelling, I left the apostrophe out of one of my ships names, sigh, there's nothing worse to a spelling pedant than a missing apostrophe!

I had to settle for "Nostalgia 4 Infinity" on mine because there's too many characters in "Nostalgia For Infinity".

Honestly 100,000 ly and I've just about got over it :(

-------------------

But to answer your question: If you ship is exploration rigged with a decent jump range 3 kylies is not far...

"Grammatical" isn't the correct adjective in this context, unless your ship is a sentence.

C- Start again. Go back to Sol and do it correctly:)

I misspell the names of all my ships for the sake of consistency.

Of course. It is a game made by Brits. We did invent the language after all.
Absoflippinglutely. (That's not a word incidentally:))

Go with the gaffer tape, if it's good enough for the girlfriend then it's good enough for 'owt.

You're clearly not one, then.

Even as a joke, that would have been too painful to write for a True Pedant (of the Grammar or Spelling variety).

Muphry* wins again...

* look it up, if you think that's a typo!!
