Anyone else played this beautiful gem?

Set following a natural event that wipes out electrical equipment, you have to survive by any means necessary in the Canadian Wild. That's right, a survival game without bland zombies!

Beautiful to look at and with a haunting score, I'd give it a strong recommend, with added bonus points for having Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer (both Sheperds from Mass Effect) voicing the main characters.

I backed the kickstarter for this, probably my favourite survival game (although I haven't tried subnautica yet) I like the way the focus is on actual survival rather than collecting sticks so you can build a box for your sticks

Haven't played it for a while though

It runs beautifully on Linux by the way. I got quite far into it but found it became repetitive, while the story is OK, the survival elements are not appealing to me enough, actually it's half way to a walking sim, which in retrospect would have been more fitting to the kind of storyline that is presented here. The survival gameplay is just here to create drag / friction..

I had my fill of survivals but found the presence of Hale as VA always very tempting.

That is one of the good parts of the game. Wish the survival part was toned down once you progress far enough though...

I played it a few hours 1-2 years ago in sandbox mode. How is the campaign? Any good?

If youve got the hang of sandbox the first two chapters wont grab you beyond world building as its mostly tutorial-esque

I quite like the survival elements.

Although I am 500 days in with a character who makes Nanuk of the North look like a godamn city-slicker

Love this game.... i made it to 150 days and then they patched it and my save game vanished. (patch rendered the save file obsolete)

I have not touched it since going gold. 150 days... going on 200 for that final achievment unlock is a massive slog.

Currently on a comfortable day 200 in my current save. Mystery Lake is such a chill survival spot.

May devblogs out, teasing a new completely untouched by man region, bear spears, a further overhaul of episodes 1 and 2 of the story and.... manual cooking
