The look of the Sky Tower in Summer Update

Anyone else disappointed with the round look of the cabin to the upcoming Sky Tower? I thought they nailed it in RCT with the Hershey Tower. I was hoping for an Intamin cabin without the hershey theming.

Did anyone notice RCTW's sky tower? If you saw it, do you like the look of that better, or PC's? They probably based PC's off of RCT3's regular sky tower with the curved glass walls. Someone made a CFR for RCT3 of a tower with a cabin that has slanted walls, like the older style ones.

Yes, I was hoping for the same thing. I guess these games are always produced in Europe so we are always going to have a funky looking observation tower instead of the classic, Coney Island, Cedar Point, Knott's Berry Farm, Great America (s), Sea World, or Astro World Intimin towers.. Looks okay (ish) though.

The only thing I don't like about the Observation tower is that it has seating and the peeps just sitting their awkwardly looks strange.

Wouldn't it be better to have them walking around looking at the views from various points?

I was thinking about this too, but that would probably be a programming nightmare.
The bigger problem is the fact that we can´t decide the actual ride. Why oh why can´t we build the tower rides in PC like we could in any other coaster game?
I don´t want the same height in every park! Let us decide how high a tower should be. Can´t be so hard to implement?!?

I like the look of the Sky Tower, it's just a bit too tall, like the other tower rides, for my smaller parks. But they did say during the stream that making their height adjustable was something they want to do if I am not mistaken. [up]

They mentioned it is very hard to implement or even design, and they have not found a proper solution for this. yet.

Personally I like the cylinder-like shape (double-deck) in RCT2 better, but I guess this futuristic look is more suitable for the mood of PlanCo.

But that's what some asked for. Revisit the rides from RCT2 and 3. About 50% of time it is what they do.
Sizzler, Booster, Afterburner, Frisbee XXL etc. And the Observation Tower looks just like the one from RCT3 with its high plattform (which normally would not exsist in reality), round shape and so on.

It's quite close to the observation tower in Linnanmäki in Helsinki. As far as I remember people should be sitted while its working.

i dont understand why it has a high platform.. never seen a real observationtower like this.. it should be like this:

and of course we need an adjustable high. i dont want my freefalltower high or higher as my observationtower..
that the peeps are sitting, is like in real parks.. i hope there is a good soundtrack for this ride.. like a planco voice, that tell some facts about the park with some classic music..

Yes i'm totally with you on that, the platform looked very strange[weird]

The tower is sometimes located on a building, like at the Europa Park, maybe that is where it comes from.
I guess, due to switching of the collision, one can build a building around it, depending how the guests walk on the base up to the ride.

Yeah, it is instantly what I thought. It's very awkward to see them sitting down in an observation tower :p

Its the same with the collider (enterprise). It has a huge double base while in reality it's on of those rides that take no space at all, a good filler ride. Thats why the new swing flatride we get in the summer update is my favourite, it's actually not oversized! I wish Frontier made the bases of the flat rides small, without any buildings and stuff. We have the no-collision now so we can build those things ourselves if we want, but now we have no choice.

THIS bugs me a lot. I don´t get why it is done this way. If we ever get scenarios with height restrictions, it means we cannot use these rides...

They could just give us different sized versions if it is too difficult to implement a variable height.

They explained that at the moment they have not done it because it's extremely difficult with the engine and the detail of the current models to provide adjustable heights. They have said they will work on it later on but it is lower on priority compared to other things such as the Biome textures. Maybe now they have done more then this will be higher up the list.

In the short term they could have provided the same model adjusted in height and provide a drop down menu to select the height and it could switch between them at say 8m intervals. But yeah that would be a lot of time to have adjusted models.

Strange it is so difficult, I would have thought they'd use a spline (basically the system for coaster tracks) to get it to work. There would be a bottom, mid (variable) and an end piece.

Also what I thought and use the same slider with 4m or 8m intervals that you just adjust. There was no explanation why it was difficult for height adjustment. I can't see it being the sequencer or anything as it should just detect those start and end pieces accordingly.

I mean they could even of had it so you click built the pieces rather than a dynamic drag system if needed.
