The maiden voyage of the Imperial exploration vessel "Princess Melidia" (Picture alert!)

This is Commander Sirocco.

I left civilized space way before the power struggle started, and am currently exploring the North American nebula. My ship, the modified Imperial Clipper "Princess Melidia", named after my noble family's founding ancestor, is holding up well, even though some of the shiny paint has been burned off by solar flares and scratched by micrometeorites.

I am approximately 2000ly from Capitol in Achenar now.

I'm sending back this probe with pictures of the most gorgeous sights I encountered during my voyage, documenting my progress and hopefully giving those that find it some enjoyment in sharing the beauty I have beheld.

Whoooaah the pic warning was not wrong :)

Some stunning pics there, thank you for taking the time to share them. The clipper is a looker and you have a great eye for a great shot :)

Greetings fellow Imperial explorer!

I am still out on my maiden voyage. Maybe see you out in the black!

In Barnard's Loop I was still flying my modified Hauler "Lady Jocelyn". I handed in my data from this trip at the NU exploration CG in Alliance space, then flew back home to Cemiess and built the "Princess Melidia" for my next trip into the unknown.

You can learn everything about my first trip to the Coalsack nebula and my voyage out to Barnard's Loop and back in my older thread:

How I got hooked on exploration

Have fun! :)

I'm tempted to join the Empire just because the Clipper and Courier are, IMO, the best looking ships in the game.

Gotta love the Clipper, arguably the most beautiful ship around!

Don't think you are too far away from me, I'm at the Pelican Nebula just now as part of my project WEST

I'm slowly winding my way back towards civilized space, stopping at New Yembo for a look at Unity Station before I return home. But I am still more than a thousand lightyears away.

Excellent shots Commander! A clipper sure looks nice out there, and I love the way it flies. You can't beat the view from the cockpit.
