They are different. Why?
[Personally, I prefer the Tutorial Main Menu but not sure how to get it ..... ]

There is only one main menu. It's looks were updated some time ago. The bottom picture shows an old version.

--edit: There is a lot of info on Elite Dangerous on the internet that is quite old and not quite accurate anymore. You have to keep that in mind. Stuff older than 1 or 2 years can be outdated.

As @Krieger says - there is an awful lot of out on date information about Elite on the web. Youtube videos in particular are a problem - no doubt due to some idiosyncrasies of their search / recommendation algorithms. Do get in the habit of checking the date on stuff you see on the net - too much is beyond its sell-by-date.
