General / Off-Topic The Mandalorian TV series

Oops. There's been a memory hole incident methinks.
The TVA has been pruning variant timelines again!

I’ve just finished a rewatch of Mando (doing an episode per day) courtesy of my Quest 2’s virtual cinema, and I think the series really holds up on the big screen - and I saw lots of details that I missed when watching on my telly. It’s put me in the mood for some more “proper” Star Wars so I’ve rooted out my Thrawn trilogy books from the 90’s - I’ll see if I can’t prune the last three films from my timeline and replace them with the written word 😁

A talented artist known as Shamook has been hired by ILM, ostensibly to improve their low quality "deepfake" faces. This will enable the appearances of youthful versions of actors in future productions. So we may get more of Luke Skywalker, who now has Baby Yoda in his care.

And still not even a close second to The Expanse...
The Expanse was good for a couple of seasons, but it's really gone to rubbish since Amazon took it over.

That's my opinion anyway. YMMV.

The Mandalorian really strokes my Star Wars nostalgia (something the sequels failed to do), and it's good ol' fashioned fun. Space Opera, sure, but for those of us who love the genre, it's pretty great!

As long as they don't insert the "Magic Hyperdrives" from the post-Disney movies into the various TV-series, I can safely pretend they're part of an alternate timeline.

Which is a pity, because I otherwise liked Rogue One, and the Force Awakens wasn't that bad an opening for the Sequel Trilogy.

OMG S3 Sucks big time, I changed my mind regarding this series. Now I only hope Candor will stay with the narrative and not turn into another dung heap!
