The Marlinists once again control the Marlinist Colony of Bedrock. Operatives from Close Encounters Corp (“CEC”) flying the false flag of a local faction have been defeated. The Liberated Mazahuanese Marlinist League once again controls the halls of Yano’s Prospect after nearly a year of hostile occupation.
Seven of the eight Marlinist Colonies are now back to living free under Marlinist republican style governments. The now 13-month long Marlinist Survival War has been a brutal campaign but spirits among the Marlinist people are at the highest they have been since the start of the war. The Marlinist defensive being organized by the Dark Wolf Marlinists, an Authorized Militia of the Marlinist government, is successfully guarding against the guerilla style tactics of our CEC foes while liberating long occupied Marlinist systems. Meanwhile our AMI allies have taken the fight directly to CEC by liberating another faction long oppressed by CEC’s autocratic regime, the Peregrina Aristocrats. AMI also has CEC bottled up so they cannot expand their reach to new systems.
The Marlinist Consulate has set the expectation that peace will not come soon because all attempts to negotiate a ceasefire have been rebuffed by the CEC leadership. Genuine offers of peace have been met with nothing but demands on what territory and freedoms the Marlinist people must give up for the attacks to stop.
Of course, the Marlinists will never capitulate to such demands. After 1,000 years of subjugation, the Marlinists have tasted freedom. We see the light of a Republican superpower at the end of the tunnel. We do not believe peace to be so sweet that we will voluntarily put back on the chains of slavery. We will not trade one oppressive master for another.
We will persevere in the face of this uncompromising enemy of freedom for the sake of our children. We will pay this price so that they will not be sentenced to another thousand years of darkness. The road to peace and freedom is before us and down that road we will carry on.
