Marlinist Safety Strengthened as Key Systems Fall Under Marlinist Control
HIP 21308, June 14, 3310 – In a pivotal development in the ongoing conflict, Close Encounters Corp (CEC) forces have retreated from the system of HIP 21308, signaling a critical victory for the Alliance for Marlinist Independence (AMI). With CEC's retreat from key systems such as Apuris, Hyades Sector ST-Q b5-6, Hyades Sector ST-Q b5-4, and now HIP 21308, the threat to the Marlinist Colonies has been significantly diminished.
CEC's presence within 24 light-years of Concordia is now limited to minor influence, effectively nullifying their threat to the heart of Marlinist territory. AMI has achieved its primary objective of securing Concordia, bringing a renewed sense of safety and stability to the Marlinist people.
In a major step forward, the Marlinists have fully integrated the former CEC system of HIP 22616, establishing a Marlinist-style republican government. Additionally, they have taken control of the military outpost in Hyades Sector ST-Q b5-6, with similar plans underway for HIP 21308.
While AMI continues to eliminate remaining pockets of resistance, the alliance is adopting a more flexible posture. This includes forming an Anti-Xeno (AX) wing to support the assault on Indra. The new AMI-AX wing has been deployed to Kagutsuchi and the surrounding systems to assist the CEC civilian population.
In a gesture of goodwill, AMI had previously pulled back many of its offensive troops from the core of CEC territory, allowing CEC a chance to rebuild. However, this gesture has not deterred CEC's terrorist attacks against Marlinist systems. Moreover, CEC and their ally, Cofradia de Accion Independiente (CAII), have used this opportunity to launch an offensive against AMI member, Alliance Rapid-reaction Corps.
Following the victory in HIP 21308, AMI issued a statement to the CEC Coalition through the Marlinist Consulate:
"While AMI has adopted a more relaxed posture, our advance continues. This war persists due to CEC's reluctance to engage in peace negotiations. We remain committed to dialogue, with the negotiation chamber on the Wings of Peace megaship open for sincere discussions with CEC ambassadors at any time. AMI will maintain its operations for as long as necessary, with our Special Forces working to ensure the safety of Marlinist space and advancing further only when required for our security. Our goal remains peace and stability, and we hope for a future where continued hostilities are no longer a reality."
This statement was sent through multiple channels but went unanswered. With each rejection of peace and ongoing aggression, it appears increasingly necessary to establish a larger buffer between CEC and the core Marlinist systems to ensure their safety.
The recent significant victories highlight AMI's dedication to securing Marlinist sovereignty and safety, and it underscores the resilience and determination of the Marlinist forces. The remote prospect of peaceful coexistence hinges on CEC's leadership demonstrating a willingness to respect the sovereignty of others. Until such a time, we have seen that AMI will continue to do what is necessary.
