You really should purchase and outfit an Asp, if you can -- their cargo capacity can facilitate far higher profits, and the extra jump range means you won't be spending nearly as much time jumping from system to system. I doubt I would've made more than ~1/3 of the 125 million credits I earned today from three Robigo runs had I been flying a Cobra. Not that 30 - 40 million credits in a single day would've been bad... But, still.I honestly have been avoiding the Shadow Delivery Missions for a bit while observing the successes and failures of other Commanders. Mind you I will run "normal" skull-faced smuggling missions all day long and have zero issues even taking my Python thru the slot at full speed (it's the only way to fly!). In fact I have long been an advocate of the speed method vs all the heat sink/chaff/silent running nonsense.
Just fly baby, fly!
So now I have just parked at Fehu with an old friend with an experimental loadout to give this Shadow Mission thing a go. I bought a shiny new Cobra MkIII and dumped the weapons, D-rated the shields and put on an A4 Scoop and an ADS. 1 chaff and 1 A0 Shield booster for defensive purposes with the game being Run Baby Run!
I thought about going shieldless too but with no weapons I would have just felt completely naked!
24T of cargo and just shy of 22Ly laden.
I will give it a whirl tomorrow afternoon! Time for bed now. 3am for work comes early.
Fly safe Commanders!
125 million credits in 1 day? You earned enough money to buy an Anaconda in ONE DAY?You really should purchase and outfit an Asp, if you can -- their cargo capacity can facilitate far higher profits, and the extra jump range means you won't be spending nearly as much time jumping from system to system. If you're high enough in rank and are selective / patient with the missions you accept, Cobras can probably do well enough as long-range smugglers, but you'll never come close to making the obscene profits you can net with an Asp-E. There's nothing quite like seeing your bank account shoot up by 50 million credits or more in a single 2-hour run.
