Oh yeah it's against real fascism!

Point well made, and respected, i come from a military family, father, his brother and my grandad all served with the RAF, they all understand that there are enemies abroad to fight, and those men in that picture fought for the freedoms we all enjoy now, such as the right to protest and strike when there is unfairness at home and work, the sort of freedoms removed by Stalin and Hitler, and threatened by Trump. Yet another reason to support womens right to protest and to do Anti Trump protests, just as long as they are peaceful.

Point well made

Nah, not at all. It's an extremely stupid point to make.

He ignores some inconvenient things like:

-Women were not allowed to enlist in the combat troops during that time.
-There were plenty of women who fought nonetheless against (and for) the third Reich.
-Women were the ones who replaced men in the different industries important for the war effort.

Trump made not only sexist remarks, he also signed executive orders that limit counseling and executing abortions and using healthcare funds, federal as well as privat, for services, removed sections about civil rights, LGTB rights and climate change from the website, and OP expects women and those who don't agree to sit back because drafted young men had to run into their certain death seventythree years ago?

Lives thoughtlessly thrown away, fighting against other men who would have probably enjoyed a drink and a game of pool with them under different circumstances, for the sake of national pride, arrogance, and an ideology of the supremacist.

If only there had been marches and protests before those wars. If only reason and tolerance would have been more valued than empty-headed patriotism.

I f only I knew what point was made exactly.

Men have and had it much harder and the usual blablabla ...

I honestly prefer eighteen year olds complaining about safe spaces instead of forcing them to charge onto a beach through artillery and machinegun fire.

The MRA "activists" probably provide a lot of unintentional comedy value for those who aren't too infuriated by them (so not to me, sadly). A less woke, more whiny and entitled bunch I've yet to come across.

The men that had it much harder, mostly had it much harder because of other men who ordered them to make it much harder for other men...

I was turning his post around in my comment and making my point the real point, he is against female marches and used the military fighting fascism as the mens march....i pointed out that WW2 was fought against fascism so that those women can march and protest, my greater point was that whilst i'm proud of the men who fought in WW2 against fascism abroad, i'm also proud to support the rights of women, gays and workers to protest against domestic fascism (Trump). So the OP was not making the good point intentionally, but i turned it into one.

If you aren't the oppressed you have no idea what the oppressed are going through. If your grandaddy fought in WW2 he'd tan your hide for trying to wear his struggle like a badge.
"Ya, son. This is what happened. Now go get political about my personal business."
Despicable. Reminds me of the NRA criticizing the ATF. You have to be smarter to at least be opaque instead of obvious and see-through. I don't like social justice warriors either but it's because their self-righteous drivel hurts the very things I believe in by associating themselves with an obtuse version of what I believe. Things are complicated, they are dumb. They think their easy solutions aren't practiced because of some guy in a suit somewhere. You apply a simple solution to a complex problem and you hurt a lot of people that fall through the cracks. "The highest understanding of ecology is the understanding of consequences" -Liet Kynes
Nothing better than a left winger confronted by their own morality. You want to be good? This is how much work it takes!
What sacrifices have you made for what you believe? Have you bled for your country? Have you made a difference?
If your grandfather was in a concentration camp, would he want you to go around talking with some kind of authority regarding Isreal? He'd be embarrassed about your big mouth and his feelings would be hurt that you cheaply used something that wasn't even yours.

I never knew Necronaught was a veteran of D Day.

mind you, the number of times I've seen "we defeated Hitler", "we saved Europe" or "didn't win the war to be bossed around by Berlin now" in comments, there are clearly a lot more of them around (and on Facebook) than you'd think.

You think they'd be taking it easy at their age.

We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.

We can only do what our hearts tell us is right. Many have given the ultimate sacrifice so you can tell us all how wrong they were. If your looking for perfection you live on the wrong planet.

That's what they told my grandpa as well.
He marched all the way to Stalingrad.
On the "wrong" side as it turned out.

Hm - should hive used his brain. ^^

There's a million untold stories that are just not epic enough for a Spielberg movie.

My grandma was deported at the age of 17 to a Russian Gulag for being "ethnically German". Coalmine somewhere in Siberia. Spent some years there (4 or 5) working under animal-like conditions (eating grass to stay alive), fractured her shin during an accident - something that never properly healed.
She didn't hate "the Russian", though. Or my grandpa (that guy that marched to stalingrad and left her behind).
Just the guy in the bunker and his cronies who started all that crap.

Not entirely sure how the normandy beach landing became a sexist topic...shame on some who trivialize their sacrifice without which we wouldnt have freedom of speech today. Disgusted by some the comments here...and thats all Im saying.
