The most elusive nav beacon

So... as a true vandal worthy of its name, I decided to pay visit to one of the nav beacons placed next to the random system star I was headed.
My intent: obviously to destroy the beeping junk and create chaos all over the system.
Pretty sure this was an absurd idea, especially considering its balance-breaking potential, I was nonetheless curious to see what was the solution FD opted for to a deliberate attack to one of these Nav B(e)acons..... mmmh baaaacon... :p
So this is what happened...

What do you think? Would you like to see something more appropriate/realistic to handle the possible vandalism/pirate threat of destroying the backbone of the interstellar travel?

I take it that you've already destroyed the Nav beacon before dropping back into its location from SC? I was expecting a video showing you destroying it first, then watching what happens / trying things like SCing out and back in.

Also it serves as more of a meeting point near the star, it doesn't have anything to do with Hyperspace travel as your frame shift drive locks onto the biggest gravity well in the system (ie. stars, black holes) to hyper jump to.

I hope there is a reason for ships to come out of super cruise at nav beacons in the future, it doesn't make much sense right now.

Then destroying them would be meaningful too.

I just want the damn nav beacons to stop JUMPING AROUND ALL OVER THE PLACE.

Not only are they still doing this, the problem has now spread to the navigation marker points that float in space at points of interest. Now THEY flit about randomly too. :)

I just want the beacon itself to QUIT FOLLOWING ME!

It always seems to be 5km behind me, even when I'm 25+ km from the nav point.

... kinda creepy

Oooh I see... I tought the nav beacons were the waypoints necessary to the navi comp to set the route for "jumping". :-(
Eheh... nvm then... I guess they'll have some plan in mind for better usage of them in the future...
Sorry! Useless thread! :)
