don't think so unless one side makes a crass gaffe e.g. NF blaming it on immigration, then it might move some people to shift.
Hopefully it will serve as a warning to those at the top who were letting the debate get poisonous. It wouldn't matter which party the MP belonged to this is not how we do politics in the UK.
It appears that it was a person with mental health problems. Maybe the rhetoric over the past month finally got to him and guided his final choice of target, but I suspect he would have harmed someone, even if it was just himself, sooner or later.

I do not want to start a debate, but fundamentally, the violence is it a sign of mental health ?
