The new meta is here!

Now im a little hesitant to share this with the community as.. well i dont want it used against me lol

But here goes after some theory crafting and experiments along with some rather good power plant and ditributor rolls on my anaconda i made some thing .. evil.

Now its made for big ships and walst i had a video of me fighting a fellow conda, they combat logged at the point there shields were gunna drop ( about 2 mins into the fight after spamming all there shield cells) so they dont get to be in the video, but this rather un ideal fed assult ship decided to have a pop and the results were mixed but still effective.

So here it is.. there is some pve at the end..

Thats all efficient PAs with thermal conduit and 2 cascade rails. A 100mj wep cap and a 51mw power plant i can burn for about 5 to 8 mins before my ship begins to get crippling malfunctions but with the ability to fire small red dwarf suns at people its long enough.

Now.. shhhh dont tell SDC ;)

you should learn to use FA-off, you could reduce the heat by a lot if you only used the thrusters a few times and then momentum to turn your ship around...

Love the big plasma blast when they all fire together - looks like you've launched a tiny red dwarf star at them.
PA's have long been horribly effective.
I've been running a PA-based FGS for a long time, and grabbed this because it makes me laugh:

I need the heat.. i want the heat.. the heat is what keeps me alive.

I can use fa off but in this situation i didnt realy need it.

Have a +1 just for Bomb The Bass.

Good old xenon 2.. that game was the other game that stole my child hood. Such fond memories :)

...why did that FAS just sit there and take all those hits?

TBH this setup will have trouble against any maneuverable opponent, especially since you aren't using FAOff. It worked here since the opponent in question didn't know what they were doing against a Plasma Conda.

I remember the days when I used to have 2 Huge PA's equipped on a vette. Fun when you hit things.

This, this & erm this!

Well, I don't usually criticise others' PvP performance 'cos it's the easiest thing to do without any real credibility (ask Ziljan). However Alph9 is not very good at PvP.

I've beaten him 4 times out of 4! 3 in his 4300+ hull FAS - twice with my fixed multi Vulture (which took forever) & once with a fixed multi SR DBS (which ironically was quicker 'cos he didn't hit me once & realised the futility of continuing!) The other time he was in a Courier & I had to deliberately drop my Vulture's shields to get him to fight, rather than constantly evade (in the open 'cheater ship') - No kills...he always runs!

Try the same with his French friend Monstro & see how you get on :D

PA's and rail guns versus big ships=dead big ship. It would be criminal if it wasn't fun to watch!

I use a combo of PA's, rails, and MC's on my Corvette, it's 007.[yesnod]

I picked on an Anaconda that was built like this before. I did manage to get behind it and stay there forcing him to flee but I would be lying if the first shots I got hit by didn't send me into absolute panic mode. Incidents such as these are what have got me in the habit of checking everyone's loadout more thoroughly.

Thanks for sharing the vid. I would recommend really looking at the heat generation, though, as you were basically cooking your ship the whole time. That isn't sustainable.

425 damage per shot when NOT.. overheating

850 when over 100% heat .. (as far as i know)

And i bit more over 150% heat.. i think from what i can tell..

God i wish the numbers on thermal conduit would be explained buy fdev..

I can fire the PAs almost forever and not over heat. I pop a cell or two to puch me over the threshold. (This also helps keep my shield up with 4 pips to wep)

Note the small red plasma balls when not over heating verses the massive glowing sun like blast of death that is produced when overheating.

The idea is that in the time it takes me to become a smoldering husk i can blast out 850mjs of death enough times to melt my enemies first.

The theory goes..
3000mj shields will be down in 4 shots no cell bank withstanding. And even if they do pop a cell off i have cascade rails and can burst thrugh the charge if i time it right or they are late on the mark.

Now resistance of the shields and hull will alter this however plasma does 60% absolute damage so, around 500mj when over heating per volly and then asuming around 50% resistance on the remaining damage thats around 675 damage.

I havent been able to do any ''friendly testing'' to gain any further insite into the viability of my theory,

however its SO MUCH FUN!! Just the same :)

Now now practice makes perfect.. we all have to start somewhere. But yes i too was expecting to have my work cut out but i was glad it wasnt so.

My FGS uses a measure of this concept as well, with TC PA on the large hard point, and small beams to warm me up, though as shown above, the PA volley alone was enough to smoke a little Cobra, but for bigger ships, warming up by melting their shields with beams, then unleashing plasma death works wonders.
