The new Mission System is a bit of a mess...

I'm not a major fan of the new "pick your payout" mission system. Although more flexible, it now just takes longer to work your way through a board of jibs to make sure you don't miss something tasty. This means MORE time working the boards, LESS time flying... It also takes longer to turn jobs in... I'm getting used to it, but I don't think its a net gain for the game. Adding another layer of complexity (even with additional filters) is not the same as adding NEW content... Sure we have to learn new stuff, but its just replacing the old stuff...

I don't think I need to comment on the Wing Missions. In the system I've been (and continue) working, I can move 2000+ Tons of heavy metals one hop (many times) in an iron-man Wing mission for 9 Mil or I can take a single, 180T cargo mission to the exact same station for 7 Mil. Decisions, Decisions... Too many Wing Missions, don't pay enough, no way to filter them out, not interested... I suspect the payouts will get balanced. Here's hoping the standard cargo missions don't get nerfed to justify the Wing missions...

Lots of filtering options. ...and those are all needed now even more if you want a decent perspective on a mission board. However, you also don't want to blindly miss something "special" cause you get in a habit of always filtering out "the noise".

I've also tried working the new payout system, except once I get where I'm going, there really isn't anyway to know which of those Data Delivery jobs I originally wanted to turn in for rep and which for credits. There is no indication of who gave the job other than the "picture" of the giver. There is no indication of your current rep with the giving faction on the turn-in screen. How are we supposed to remember which jobs we selected for rep and which were selected for credits? Not enough info... Am I missing something?

If we are going to have filters, for the jobs I've been working (long-term), I'ld like to have a filter so I can only see missions going to a particular system or even station. Typically I roll into my favorite station and look for cargo missions going to 2 other systems/stations. Once I make a decision of which station/system I'm going to, I then load up on all the high paying jobs going specifically to that station. Once I decide where I'm going, then I don't need to see jobs going anywhere else. Even better would be a "show me all jobs going to *" pre-sorted by payout...

I'm not really expecting any traction on this. I'm just tossing it out there because it would make a difference in my little world...

Wholeheartedly disagree with the above - finally the game gives us the chance to play the way we want. I honestly think that the time cost is well worth the flexibility cost.

Give me a break! [rolleyes]

Seems some will not be content until FDEV introduces AUTO PLAY into the feature options.

Totally disagree with the OP. A Ridiculous complaint.

Mission boards and reward selection are the best thing about this update. I can finally take any mission I want in any ship I want.

Well they are nerfing the skimmer missions and soon board flipping too. So they will probably listen to the OP and implement soon.
RIP mission system, we will miss you!

I love the new reward options. More choice is a good thing in my book.

Though i have to agree that the winged mission payouts seem a bit borked at the moment.

It's much as it was before - you still had to dig into the mission to see what a material or commodity reward was before this update.

Thanks for NOT reading...

1. Its not a complaint - It an observation

2. Never said I wanted AutoPlay - I actually like it better the way it was.... How is that Autoplay?

3. Furthermore, If we are truly headed down the road for mission and payout filters, why not add a destination filter?

I'm sure you have a big bag of analogies to throw at folks, but spare me the "AutoWin", "BuyAll", "Billion Credit Button" crap if you are not actually going to read the comments. If you want to make this game 90% working the mission boards and 10% flying, that's your choice...
