These are so cool!

Had this really funny gap in my system map in a populated system just now, nothing visible, just a funny gap, turns out there's a system colonisation ship hiding there!

So I had to go check it out of course and yep there it is in all its glory;

It's dockable, just sitting there doing nothing, workers must be on strike or something!
lunch break...

Heh, it just occurred to me that FDev put all that work into making a port under construction look great because THEY KNOW that a year from now the bubble is going to have a lot of abandoned constructions from players that have some drifted into other games :D

If there's going to be player detritus kicking around (which we demanded because we don't want time limits on constructions) then they've gone the extra mile to make it an interesting part of the living galaxy

They really put a lot of work into it. The concourse of a recently finished but not yet fully operational star-port is full of scaffolding and empty rooms...

One thing I learned is that once you finished your primary port, you now have to deal with the "construction point" system instead of a timer. You cannot plop down just any structure, they come in tiers. And to build a tier 2 structure like a large settlement you need a certain amount of tier 2 points. You get those points by building smaller tier 1 structures like small settlements or "cosmetic" installations.

To build an Orbis Apollo Star Port, you need 6 "tier 3" points, which means you have to build a lot of tier 1 and tier 2 stuff first.

Wasted effort imo. They could've used this for abandoned/decrepit systems (reverse colo as a BGS thing) which could lead to missions with more varied location scenarios.
