Tested it just now. So, you can scan everything in a jiffy. Then you enter the system map and see the scanning info. First "refining scan", later all the numbers pop in. Thank you FD, really cool!

Right? I've been very happy with how quickly those scans populate.
Agreed. However, Not having to watch dozens of asteroid belts resolve is probably my favorite change. All in all it was a good update for the FSS!
Sometimes it takes a little longer, but! you don't need to wait around if you're not interested in geolocations at the moment. Also, you're instantly alerted (admittedly haven't tested) to the possibility of biosites and, if you're searching for those, you can wait up to a minute for the scans to resolve. Not at all a problem compared to previous workings.
Searching for and scanning objects takes ages, 72 body system, looking for landable jumponium mats?
