Ships The next Imperial Ship?

So, this is something I've been kinda thinking about for quite a while now. As a staunch supported of the Empire, and someone who played the older Elite/Frontier games growing up (grandma was an old-school nerd), I'm curious as to what the next Imperial ship would be.

Would they bring back another iteration of the Imperial Explorer, or Imperial Trader, like they did with the Courier?

Or would it be something totally different and unique to the Elite series?

+ 1 I-Eagle was mentioned for 1.4, but take with a grain of salt. 1.4 is supposedly weeks after CQC on XBox, and that as supposed to launch late July. So far all we've seen is some very early concept art and that is essentially just a kit-bash at that. Also remember the Fed Corvette was listed for 1.3 but didn't make it in in that release, so the I-Eagle may slip as well.

All that being said, I would like to see the I-Eagle in game in 1.4 and I'd love to see the I-Cutter mentioned in the Courier's fluff text (It's also got some concept art out, looks like an Anaconda sized Clipper, but sleeker. Also looks like it'll need to have retractable engine nacelles to land, interesting...). I'd also like to see the rumoured I-Liner as well, although I suspect it'll be a variant of the Clipper with a passenger deck.

Finally, I'd like to see the Hunter design from older concept art, undeniably a Gutamaya design, but sharper and more angular than Imperial designs. Maybe it'll be the one Gutamaya ship that doesn't require Imperial rank to get.

I`d like them to bring out the corvette..

It'd be pretty huge - at least 1.5x Anaconda size.. as to cost- beg, borrow and steal babies to buy it!:p

Oh and the Beluga liner for lols, imagine the mass lock on that tub :eek:

Yep, I mention something like this in the thread in my signature, though they are hybrids (like the Asp is, really).

Some people thought this was the early clipper concept, but the clipper has its own concept artwork;

The differences are quite noticeable when you've got the two concepts together....
