The North Western Expedition

Howdy commanders,

Yesterday evening I started my North Western Expedition.

This is just another one-man expedition which I planned for month’s. My home-base is Jaques. Getting equipment to Jaques was not easy and it is very expensive. I went 3 times to the bubble and back because I forgot some parts or some engineering. It also gave me the opportunity to participate in the DSE. Which was an awesome experience.

Since I have all my stuff in Colonia there was no excuse to delay the NWE any longer.

The ship I am using is an Anaconda named Nina III.

The first Nina was sold, I did not want to spent 280,000,000cr for the transfer. Nina II died with me on the DSE.

You can find the route of the NWE here.

I selected some historical markers and some random waypoints.

I am really exited about this. Especially going to Beagle Point.

From time to time I will post images in this thread when I find something interesting.

See you in the dark.

An expedition of one, and you have a spiffy logo like that? Plus an EDSM page? Well done!
Also, that's quite the Anaconda you have there. Good luck on your expedition!

That's a great route map you have there! I spent a lot of time up in the Abyssal Plains on my way home from the DWE, it's a very sparse area of space. I didn't see a tagged system for many months, not one! The views were great though, planet surfaces get very dark due to the lack of stars in the area.

Fly safe!

Thanks. EDDiscovery is running in the bg all the time. I will see that I add some ELW's to your list.;)

Just gotta say, i LOVE your build. To me, that feels like what a ship traveling the stars might ACTUALLY look like. Love it. :)

That is how it feels to me too. Especially with VR.

Thanks. I was not there for DWE, I had to finish Albion Prelude first.;) I always wanted to go to the Abyssal Plane. And it is a region of space which is not much travelled yet. Good for EDSM data.

Like the logo, but I would have gone with "Far Spinward Expedition".

"Far Spinward Expedition" sounds nice too. I never heard about that. Is it a faction? Please excuse my ignorance.

Great stuff, good luck CMDR!

May I ask for what you'll use the refinery for?

I need the refinery to refine some gold for gold pressed latinum. That is the only currency accepted by the restaurant at the end of the galaxy.:O

Seriously, It does not weigh anything and I had one free slot. You never know what happens out there.

Thanks CMDR. o7

Alone. Silence. Finally.

Like CMDR Mengy, I spent a time in the Abyssal Plain. That was the target of my first really long distance expedition. It's worth exploring, and hardly anyone has gone there. I too had my own expedition patch for that jaunt.

I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks CMDR Yanick.

I am looking forward to the Abyssal Plain, but there is still some lightyears to travel.

Soon your Mercury 7 Expedition will start. I wish you the best of luck for that expedition as well.

I was on my way back from the Abyssal Plain this week, having been in the Scutum Centaurus arm for the better part of the last year since the end of the Distant Worlds Expedition. There is still a lot out there to find. I love that part of the galaxy. "Magnificent desolation" truly applies. Safe travels, commander o7

Well done commander. I enjoyed my own western expedition on the way back from Beagle after distant world. You feel very lonely out there. Good luck
