The odyssey is on sale again

$350 for the Odyssey+ at my local MS store. Walk in, walk out.

Cheaper then the Black Friday deal I got.

VR is getting cheap !

I picked up my Odyssey shipped from the USA and the whole thing cost less than a UK CV1. It’s the best tech decision I’ve made for ages.

Well, at least since I decided to upgrade my pc so I could run VR anyway:D

Nice . I heard that it makes text annoyingly blurry though but maybe that's person specific

Vive owner here, with perfect vision and not liking blur, tried and no blurry text in Odyssey+. I can see the SDE though ;P but it doesn't bother me tbh. So no, odyssey+ is not blurry. That's a misconception born from "through the lens" photos I think.

Alrighty, sounds decent

I so do with it used oculus sdk though Im not a fan of steam vr. Games I have played on it just look worse and run worse then on oculs home.
Asw is really good and in the steam vr version the artifacts are far more noticeable.
This is if I take the plunge and don't like it I can't return it if I import

I've said elsewhere on here I've found the text blurry on the odyssey+ but this has changed, it's very good and as sharp as the Lenovo with less sde which looks better. God rays are worse though.

What I've really struggled with is the fit, and probably where the blurriness was coming from. I took a different approach last week and clarity was immediately improved.
I'm really confused by Samsung's design, they've made this great piece of technology and hampered it by only allowing you to tighten/loosen the headband. In contrast all the padding on the Lenovo is velcro attached and adjustable, the screen can change it's angle and headset feels weight balanced front to back (the Samsung is twice the weight and front heavy)

Your head needs to fit the Samsung or you're modding whereas the Lenovo (and rift etc) can be adjusted for different head shapes.

Edit: and re Steamvr reprojection do you know it needs to be manually enabled in a text file? I've seen artifacts with it off but don't really notice any with it on. It seems like a good implementation.

Pps. I've made this offer to others, if you're anywhere near Sheffield you'd be welcome to come try mine.
