Hi! my name's Dinusty
I started the Slack community approaching a year ago or so from this post. Starting as a side project, it quickly became and still is something I put a lot of time into. Even more than the game at this point. I find it awesome to bring people together and build a community around things. With the introduction of PowerPlay and the lack of communication tools other than Reddit, I decided to make a small chat hub for the common Aisling Duval Commander discuss anything they want. Quite slow at first, it is now something that I look at work, on the bus, at home, when I wake up... it is the game to me. A strong community is everything and I'm happy to say I have created a home for myself that I hope it can be to all Aisling Duval Commanders' Home.

Major Community Features
- General chat where you can learn a lot quick if you're quite new to Powerplay or to Elite Dangerous.
- Public Orders is where you go if you want to find something to do to help Aisling Duval. It directly correlates with our Public Trello. Suggestions welcome as well!
- Secure Lines for AD cycle strategy, planning and communications. Requires AD verification at least every two months.
- Looking-for-wing is our LFG feature
- BGS organized channel. [AD Slack BGS Guide]
- Voice Comms between out command /hangout which makes a link in chat to auto join google hang out too !discord you can speak while in the darkness of space.
- Lore We have a Wikia if you want to write and publish some Elite fan fiction.
- Exploration channel for people sharing screens and talking about their travels. Website for gallery in the works
- Trade & Mining channel if you find a sick trade route or mining location.
- NikaBot for tracking personal projects as well as large operations between many different Cmdr's.Example

- How do I join? Here!
- I received a notification that I was pinged, how do I find that?
A. The @ sign in the top right-hand corner will show you your pings. Make sure it is set to include @channel notifications. Example - I have a moderation issue, whom should I contact?
A. Say something in #moderation if it's a suggestion for slack or a feature you would like to see added. If a serious matter or issue with a member please send a PM to @dinusty, @quade, @gswine, or @sun. - What is with the [AD], [XB1], [PL], etc. in front of people’s names?
A. We use these tags to show what player groups we are affiliated with. List here - What is BGS?
A. The Background Simulation is the core mechanic of the Elite Dangerous galaxy. Every action you take has an impact on the BGS. Trade, missions, piracy, exploration, murder, etc., will all create some kind of effect and the aggregate activity of commanders throughout the galaxy drives this core gameplay. A. Check out this link for more information. - Any other naming conventions?
A. Yes! Your name should be related to your in-game name, if not identical. Also, everyone here is a CMDR so no need to wear your title(Slack allows auto-completion of names… but it sucks if everyone starts with CMDR)
- How do I change my name?
A. Top left-hand corner there is an upside down arrow, click that. Choose “View Profile & Account”, then on the right side, click on Edit. That will take you to a place where you can edit your name. Add the tag as first name and your commander’s name as last name. - Do you have a discord?
A. yes we do. it's not our primary communication tool but we understand that because of the AD only rule in our slack we should have an open line between every other player as well as an area for open discussion where our slack rules don't apply other than making sure people are not hostile.
