the only save way to wipe bounty on your head?

hi to all,

is it right, that the only save way to get rid of a bounty
on your head is, to land on a station with a different
faction, respectively, wich is perhaps in most cases the fact,
to have to change the system (same allegiances of course)?

so it was very cumbersome to go on with your combat as a shiny clean person,
if you get a little bounty accidentally in a good place;)

greetings

No no no the only way to clear your bounty is to pick a fight with a station. If you win they clear your bounty and give you a million credits.

kidding..
right now before they attempt to fix crime.. Ignore the laughter.. Sorry yeah you can clear your bounty at any station even in one where you are wanted if you're fast enough to get through the door in time before they scan you.
if you can land at outposts that's the safest way since they have no security.

- any outpost within a System you have the Bounty in will do (exception : if System is i.e. at Civil War, even Outposts can/will have Patrol fighters scanning)
- Silent running does absolutely nothing about getting scanned (basically it doesn't work)
- running in extremely cold, however, does, as your head signature is the only factor in play (as said, Silent running doesn't help avoiding scans, that feature ceased to function a long time ago)
- safest way is still the oldschool high-speed entry into the Station

Seems to work for me coming into larger stations. Just activate it way off when you're lined up I never get scanned.

Thats because your heat sig is cold by the time you get in range of the scanners.

At one time, silent running used to be an effective stealth switch, hiding you from stations immeadiately after your activate it.

Have to agree with the Captain. If I cool down first, then just fire up thrusters and sensors and use silent running I don't get scanned. I have gotten scanned running sensors and thrusters without silent running.

Seems like it's working as intended then, it shouldn't be an immediate heat dump, just ensures you're not pumping out a larger thermal signature on approach from shields etc.

so with the conditions below, the only way to get clean, indeed, seems
to be to pay your fines in another system:rolleyes:

assumptions:
- i don't want to run in silent mode
- i depend on large pads
- no suitable stations with a other faction in system

One more thing to add, military outposts will usually have a bunch of patrol ships, regardless of there being a civil war or not. Probably 8 of 10 that I've seen have a very large patrol force. Around 8 to 12 federal fighters for the busiest ones I've seen. Such a pain to sneak in, usually I'll have to boost until I'm 100m from the pad to land without being scanned at these outposts.
