The Option to Pledge More

My view is that they should introduce some kind of subscription that gives (for example) complete access to all paint jobs (and other none game affecting extras) while the subscription is active. I'd happily pay £10 per month for Elite. I get much more entertainment value than that from it.

I have bought a couple of paint jobs. But as I only have an Asp, I don't really want any others...

If the Xbox One version of the game is not in its own galaxy (i.e. is shared like Mac and PC), then I'll buy another copy for that. I'll probably buy a copy for my son at some point too... Though I'll have to build him a machine first, as his was bought by someone with no clue about computers...

Personally I wouldn't. Ive bought a game from a business. I love it yeah but it ends there. I don't keep sending money to the dyson man cos I bought his vacuum cleaner.

Excellent point. However, Elite is for many people way above and beyond the value of most games out there. In the modern era of rehashes and boomfests like Call of Duty 463 and Assassins Creed: Even Creedier Elite is a real breath of fresh air. I personally want to give them extra for that, not because I love them so much but I'd like this sort of game development to be rewarding and thus successful, so that more of the same sorts of games are produced.

Should there be an OPTION for us to put more money into Elite Dangerous other than buying paint jobs?

Elite Dangerous isn't your typical game - Some people have waited decades for this. It's a constantly evolving 'managed' game that ultimately has a bunch of guys hidden in darkened office pods, responsible for serving us up content. Like your local coffee shop or butchers, you will always find people willing to go the extra mile to ensure that they remain 'open for business'."

I think it's a cool idea and one day Frontier will teeter on the edge of closing the server down, its inevitable.

That will be the time for us to club together and put some money into either keeping it going or funding an alternative. Right now they're fine, I think.

its your money , your choice . but if you like some american movie in cinema do you send extra money to hollywood ? if you want to give away money than rather give it to poor people . frontier is rich enough .

You missed the point.

This is an EVOLVING game, money helps fund this in case you didn't realise.

Why bring up poor people?

So, you think that because Frontier is "rich" enough we shouldn't continue to help fund the development of the game. More money ultimately means they can deliver more quality.

Like I said in the post: The OPTION to pledge more, the option.

And this.

They are fine, but just like with insurance in game: it's best to have more.

I'm with you OP.
I kinda feel like I want to continue to show my support for FD and ED. I've got a t-shirt, pin badge and 2 key-rings from the store. I bought a paint job for my Cobra. I'll buy more paint jobs.
If it ever looks like becoming a football club facing liquidation, I'll be organising a virtual bucket collection.

I think if people want to chip in a bit of extra support for the game - then fair play to them, let them.

For those going on FD is a business - yes, it is - did you also know water is wet? - neither statement has any bearing on how others want to spend their money.
Next time you want to spend any money, try coming on here asking for my permission first - see if you like when I say no you cannot spend your money how you want

I can't see a problem with the idea. I have bought several ship skins, not using any of them now. I bought them to support FD. :)
