The Perseus/Orion-Cygnus Prospecting Operation

Granted, the name is a bit of a mouthful, but bear with me for this one. I didn't name those arms of our galaxy after all.

I got my inspiration for this endeavor from reading up on the DSN Luxury Tour found here which had already started when I found the thread. Besides my work schedule kinda would have kept me from participating in it. Since I had recently bought a Beluga I thought, why not put it to use in exploration? Anaconda is nice, but a bit too sluggish for my liking. On that matter the Beluga is a nice change of pace although it lacks in jump range compared to the Anaconda.

So what is this endeavour about?
As the name suggests it involves two galactic arms - more precisely the area where the two arms become one. The idea is to get there and find some decent mining sites and bring the mined resources back.
I am going to turn the journey there into a separate thread written in the style of a story supplemented by some entries from the ship's log and maybe a few screenshots if I find something interesting along the way.

However, I am not going to use the neutron highway since I prefer not to intentionally damage my ship. By doing regular jumps the trip will take a long time and I am aware of that, but I also get to explore a significant number of systems - plus it is reasonable for passenger ships like a Beluga to not risk the lives of its passengers. Gives a bit of a cruise-feel to the whole operation.
For these reasons I don't think other people would be overly interested in this trip - other than maybe reading about it once the story-thread goes up in the roleplaying forum.

Feel free to let me know your opinions on this.

The Beluga is a good ship for exploration or other activity, it's a good compromise with the Anaconda. You are right to get inspired by Luxury Tour, I hope this will bring you luck.

I will follow your adventures with pleasure !

I would rather see a thread here than in roleplaying. But I understand that making two threads is not easy.

Fly safe and have fun!

I decided to have the log and story in roleplaying because I deemed it more fitting there. Don't worry, I'm going to put a link here once I get around to typing it all down so far.
