Just wanted to conclude this thread with some after journey final thoughts about the Phantom.

I have decided to return the Phantom. I already own Krait MK2 and can do everything in it with more than good enough jump range. Other than extra little jump range, I dont seem to get more value out of the Phantom. By jury rigging cockpit light with the help of Cmdr Old Duck ( Amazing Realistic Immersion Mod ) I have taken care of super bright Krait cockpit for exploration. I also seem to miss the SLF.

If i did not own Krait already and was not into much SLF, Phantom would be a keeper for sure. So much so I would not mind parting with my trusty DBX. Overall it was an ok mini exploration session with the Phantom. This gave me a chance to try out properly before went on a very long journey and be stuck with it.

Depends what you want from exploration. Jump range for fast travel? SLF? Cockpit view? I currently travel back from SagA back to bubble. 62 ly range asp x. Sufficient imo. If you do explo for money you don't need top end range for it. Especially if you explore galactic core. Less range mean more jumps on long range trips which means more money. Find a ship you like to fly it doesn't have to be best exploration ship.

Or just hop into conda. It has everything.

And that's why I am en route to Colonia right now in an Alliance Crusader. Just 125 more jumps to go with 45 ly jump range. Have not used any Neutron boost.

As for the Conda, the L class ships does not really tweaks my interest at all. I think it has to do with flying around such a large ship all by myself without any crew. Breaks immersion in my honest opinion.

I have been soo busy finding a ship that I can stay for a very long time then engineer them, I have not done any real exploration. Currently I own DBX, Crusader, Krait Mk2. I think I am good in Ship department for the foreseeable future. From Colonia I am heading to Ishum's Reach in this Crusader then back in Colonia again to live for few months and do some real exploration.
