Given that Odyssey is all about doing stuff on planets, now is the time for all those atmospheric fighters from First Encounters.

Conveniently, this would also trigger all the people who want the Panther Clipper to get lots of tiny things.

I know the empire is "mostly peaceful" but upcoming conflicts might force a combat focused Med ship, with the usual qualities of the Empire not present like speed, nacelle gun mounts all gone, and rethink of a typical empire ship, instead of blue stock ambient lighting...i dont know Rouge colour maybe coz we be ballers! and it sounds like
Nebuchadnezzar from Matrix. Certainly not need to look identical copyrights etc...but similar maybe....a colab between guardian tech and Empire

Assuming the thrust of it is new ships (no haven't watched, might do later). Go with the assumption that if FD haven't confirmed it, it isn't happening.

There are plenty of ships in the game for most people though (unless you happen to have a YouTube channel with a focus on reviewing ships, in which case... oh well, they can't keep adding new ships forever). I've got one of every ship except the Cutter and Corvette, and i only really use half a dozen. The rest are just there gathering dust.

Now, if FD added a Cobra Mk5, then i'd be all over that!

i didn't watch the video and dont plan to (i'm of the early millenial generation that hates social media and youtube videos where people record a speech that can be better communicated by text or just aren't important)

I'm going to assume the gist is more ships and the way fdev can create them is by purchasing from salvage yards where the ships are sold as "variants" to existing new ones with significantly altered specs and purchase requires delivering various salvaged materials and commodities from derelict or destroyed ships to the salvage yard.

Additionally i'm going to assume the suggestion also eliminates insurance against these ships since they're not mass-produced.

I'm down for that idea that i'm assuming is exactly what was suggested.
