From today's Patch Notes:
"Power bounties are issued instead of normal bounties for criminal acts to do with valid Powerplay interactions."
At the time of posting, the 3.0 Patch has yet to be released for download.
However, previous experience suggests that:
(A) There have been bugs/anomalies to do with Powerplay and illegality before;
(B) The current, quite sophisticated, scope of the Pilots Federation Bounty (which recognises Powerplay status of system, and also recognises Imperial and Fed Powers as being allied) may or may not be duplicated into the new system. And it only applied between players anyway.
Probably everyone like me will want to spend their first few days in 3.0 re-RNGineering but once we've made a start on that, I'd be grateful if as many Powerplayers as possible could test the new C&P rules.
(For obvious reasons, it makes sense to do this in something you can afford to lose. Personally I'll be hitting up a buddy and we'll try to visit various systems together blowing each other up in Haulers. Note that, ofc, you'll need to drop wing and have RC-on!)
Personally, I'd rather know in advance exactly what the rules are, and whether there are any bugs, before I take the risk of the ATR being called on me during Powerplay PvP...
So, here's a list of likely questions. Please feel free to add your own questions, or answers.
Likely Questions
1. Are there any scenarios, in a system with a Powerplay-designated-status (e.g. Control, Expansion), when the game is going beyond issuing a Power bounty only?
2. Is the Powerplay-designated-status limited to Control, or what are the limits?
3. To the extent relevant as above, can a Imperial or Federal player continue to defend an Imperial or Federal system, even though it is not one belonging to his/her Power, without punitive C&P consequences?
4. What happens if a Pledger attacks another Pledger in a system that is policed, yet has no Powerplay status at all?
5. Are the NPC cops still intevening, and summoning more cops, if they see a Pledger v Pledger attack, even though only a Power bounty was issued (I saw this happen in Beta).
6. Following on from 5 above, are there any situations in which the ATR are being called, even though the Pledger has not fired back at anything other than a Power-pledged ship?
7. Are there any differences between PvE and PvP affecting any of the above?
8. (Your question here!)
Obviously if we encounter issues it's my intention to bring them to Frontier's attention asap.
Thanks in advance to any who contribute to, or even just support, this thread,
