Powerplay The Powerplay 3.0 C&P Thread

From today's Patch Notes:

"Power bounties are issued instead of normal bounties for criminal acts to do with valid Powerplay interactions."

At the time of posting, the 3.0 Patch has yet to be released for download.

However, previous experience suggests that:

(A) There have been bugs/anomalies to do with Powerplay and illegality before;

(B) The current, quite sophisticated, scope of the Pilots Federation Bounty (which recognises Powerplay status of system, and also recognises Imperial and Fed Powers as being allied) may or may not be duplicated into the new system. And it only applied between players anyway.

Probably everyone like me will want to spend their first few days in 3.0 re-RNGineering but once we've made a start on that, I'd be grateful if as many Powerplayers as possible could test the new C&P rules.

(For obvious reasons, it makes sense to do this in something you can afford to lose. Personally I'll be hitting up a buddy and we'll try to visit various systems together blowing each other up in Haulers. Note that, ofc, you'll need to drop wing and have RC-on!)

Personally, I'd rather know in advance exactly what the rules are, and whether there are any bugs, before I take the risk of the ATR being called on me during Powerplay PvP...

So, here's a list of likely questions. Please feel free to add your own questions, or answers.

Likely Questions

1. Are there any scenarios, in a system with a Powerplay-designated-status (e.g. Control, Expansion), when the game is going beyond issuing a Power bounty only?

2. Is the Powerplay-designated-status limited to Control, or what are the limits?

3. To the extent relevant as above, can a Imperial or Federal player continue to defend an Imperial or Federal system, even though it is not one belonging to his/her Power, without punitive C&P consequences?

4. What happens if a Pledger attacks another Pledger in a system that is policed, yet has no Powerplay status at all?

5. Are the NPC cops still intevening, and summoning more cops, if they see a Pledger v Pledger attack, even though only a Power bounty was issued (I saw this happen in Beta).

6. Following on from 5 above, are there any situations in which the ATR are being called, even though the Pledger has not fired back at anything other than a Power-pledged ship?

7. Are there any differences between PvE and PvP affecting any of the above?

8. (Your question here!)

Obviously if we encounter issues it's my intention to bring them to Frontier's attention asap.

Thanks in advance to any who contribute to, or even just support, this thread,

o7

How does the Dark Lord, Archon Delaines rank 5 bonus of 100% reduction in bounties work in 3.0? What is reduced? Is crime even a thing in Archons space?

I tested this part a lot, and there were two many bugs:

1- Security Ships were involved anyway (especially ATR in High Security systems)
2- the Independent Powers were treated as part of the same Superpower, so a regular bounty was issued instead of the Powerplay bounty

Let's hope it's been fixed.

And about Archon Delaine our Rating 5 Power Bonus is Crystal Clear: all fines and bounties are reduced to zero. ;)

Um ... can a Rating 5 Kumo guy kill whoever they like, then, no ATR? Just Delaine space, or what?? Pilots Federation Bounty included, or not???

I do remember lots of stuff about this in mid-2015 but not followed it since...

The Pilots Federation Bounties are no more.

And only in Archon space of course, all of the Powerplay bonuses only work in their own exploited systems.

Oh sorry I forgot to mention that we have security response even in the 2.x, our bonus is just for bounties to be reduced to zero (and that DID work in the beta ;) )

(And finally our Powerplay bonus has a meaning :p )

In the description it says

• Crimes committed between Powerplay pledged Commanders generate power bounties instead of normal bounties.

Is this new rule only applicable for PvP killing?

Will killing another power's NPC ships - especially with regards to undermining - result in power bounties or still normal bounties?

Power bounties.

I did not have much time to test in Beta, unfortunately, but when I went to a Nav Beacon in a policed Control system, me pledged to a hostile power, and started destroying the ships of the controlling power, I only incurred power bounties, not normal bounties.

However ... the cops that were present at the Nav Beacon responded by immediately attacking me. I did not shoot any of them, not even in retaliation, yet they also called in reinforcements. Unfortunately I didn't stick around long enough to see whether the ATR turned up ... but I wouldn't have been surprised.

This is the sort of thing that hopefully we can iron out once we're all not up to our eyeballs in RNGineering...

Found out tonight I have 2 Notoriety, couldn't work out why. I wasn't wanted and hadn't had to pay off any bounties.

Then remembered I'd tested a Chieftain at a Nav Beacon. Killed two opposing power NPC ships. They'd not generated any warnings other than Power Bounties.

Logged with Frontier Support for now and sent in the journals to see, the bounties being Power Bounties I can work with, gaining notoriety for PowerPlay seems a bit much.

Thanks for sharing, 100% this was the sort of thing I was afraid of when I started this thread.

Waited for today for Notoriety to drop to zero and tested to see if I can repeat.

Dropped into a Nav Beacon, targeted a PowerPlay ship for another faction, checked it displayed as Wanted|Enemy. killed it, message flashed up for my payout for destroying Criminal. Looked over to the Stats Panel and Notoriety has gone up to 1.

Managed to screen capture the whole thing so will submit as that sounds more like a bug than working as intended. The other ship was clearly Wanted|Enemy.

Probably be cautious being careful for a while, not been interdicted by a PP NPC yet so don't know if that situation generates the same Notoriety.

Absolutely, go to it.

Neck-deep in RNGineering at present but will try to help with my own testing as soon as ship ready!
