Powerplay The preparation system; the bane of Powerplay

Ocellus-Voice-Assistant plugin is free.. have you looked ?

I think the point is, the average player does not care about Powerplay or powers 'winning'.

They only care about what they can get out of it, as easily as possible.

Most players do not want to be ordered about, go to Reddits, use 3rd party software, Discord / Teamspeak etc. Its too much effort, or simply don't care.

By its design Powerplay needs co-ordination, its intention was that everyone would recognise what is good and do that. Unfortunately that is not the case- players do what they want because they can and that by design we have that choice.

Having no ingame place to message each other, or contact outside of texting is a massive omission, and shows the confusion of PP underlying design.

This is very clear by the thread.. & no doubt Fdev's will take some time to fix it .

Players who wish to make a go of PP in its current state, have little choice but to use Third party Apps/software, which is why I mentioned one of them given someone is trying to help.

anyway you know about it now , its there , it maybe of some use , it may not

Don't think I'm having a go at you, its great that people help by making suggestions about software or websites :)

The preparation system currently allows just a few commanders to disproportionately affect the direction of a whole power - the current situation of ALD expansions into poor, loss making systems show how a few dedicated players can effectively cripple a power through brute force methods. A few weeks ago one of ALDs recent expansions was pushed through by a few players pulling over 80k of preparation against the majority of the power who instead tried to get a more profitable system through.

Unfortunately this ability effectively ruins powerplay for the majority of the power through the sheer time that these few can put into working against it. 80k+ merits, post 2.1, is a staggering preparation effort given the current state of play. Through the actions of these few,and preparation of poor systems over the last three months in particular, many of us are seeing our hard work over the last year undone by what can only be classed as poor sportsmanship on those colluding against us so hard.

Powerplay: Fun for some, frustrating for most of us. Work on sorting the preparation system would go a long way to addressing what is a significant gameplay flaw.

The problem here is that Power Play gives us absolutely no means to see just how 'few' these 5c preparation efforts are. Hell, for several months 5c prep, which was at least made up of 2 CMDRs, if not 6, was held at bay by a single loyalist CMDR who did nothing all day but make prep runs, and he barely kept them at bay until the last hours of the cycle, when everyone else could pile on.

So when it comes down to it, we haven't got a clue just how out-manned we are when it comes to 5c efforts.

And of course, multiple times, Sandro has commented about preparation implying that systems with 80k prep merits were heavily voted for by the pledged pilots.

There is absolutely no clarity about whether it's nomination-votes or tonnage-votes, and that is why we need to separate them, if only to let us know how deranged our Power is as a whole.
