So, I've wanted to head out into deep deep space for awhile (SAG A and beyond), but I don't want to just do it and return home like everyone else, I want to try something a little bit different. So, the DSS Puddlejumper was born.

I'm going to attempt to get as far out in deep space as I can with a Sidewinder and no AFMU. I've already left Lave station and I'm heading towards Antares (the destination from my very first exploration trip). We'll see how badly this turns out, or if I'll need to turn tail and run back way early. Odds are, I won't make it to be completely honest. I'm going to need to be way more careful than I usually am. The biggest issue being flying into starts unintentionally. I will be updating with anything interesting I find on the way, or if something goes horribly wrong. Whichever comes first.

So, with my long journey ahead, I'll leave a link to my ships specifications. I outfitted with jump range in mind. Let's be honest, the Sidewinder sucks. We all know that, it's classified as a multi-purpose ship, but that's a nice way of saying it sucks at everything. An Eagle, which is cheaper, can be outfitted better for exploration and fit a bigger fuel tank. I didn't want to get rid of the detailed surface scanner, so I went ahead and decided no AFMUs to make it more interesting. As far as jumping from system to system, the biggest problem I see is I'm going to need to go to pretty much all fuel scoop able stars unless I see something interesting along the way. Plus I'll still need to watch the reservoir on top of that. This could easily end quickly just from not watching my fuel tank, but I will, I refuse to lose to gas mileage!
