Greetings Commanders,
Iv finally done it! After purchasing a Python and a Cobra, finding some very concerned engineers and an able port, We created the first Pythobra! I am Dubbing it The Astrolabe Explorer. The Engineers have, beyond their expressed doubt, outfitted parts of the Cobra onto a Python for me. Using the Engines and installing a secondary Powerplant, Expanding the Hull with materials salvaged and repurposed from the frame of the Cobra. They even tinkered with the Frame Shift Drive to try and get the most out of it as they can, using spare parts from the Cobra's FSD.
Now, I know what you are thinking, Im a mad man asking for a death wish! That My ship will only explode into a beautiful, but brief, explosion for no one but the darkness of space to view! Yet, she is purring under me like a dream! We've succesfully moved The Astrolabe to a star port in the Canopus System under its own power. Of course, I got strange looks and it took some convincing to allow Federation Officers to let me port there... My Friend Commander Alesia has decided to join on for this 3 month long trip.
I'll provide Details as the expedition continues. Today we planned to shove off port here and make our way to The Lin Shu Hollow. Pass through the Hawkings Gap and then onto The Dryman Ridge.
The Astrolabe herself was a little over 200,000 credits and a bit more after labor was included. Some of the engineers have decided to be apart of the Expedition team, so we are at 5 total members. Myself, CMDR Hikosha Satomu (Histarium) and CMDR Alesia.
Our Goal is to Explore the "Eastern" side of the Galaxy. After the Dryman Ridge, we'll just play it by ear and slowly make our way around the galaxy in a circular fashion, until we end up at Jacques Station. Or, at least, that is the current plan.
