In the age of fermented grapes aficionados, I'd like to steer the subject to what really matters; the good things.
I'll start:
1) The sound. The one thing that hit the bell. No complaints whatsoever. It is FINE! (and that's coming from one who knew the awarded sound engineer at DICE as a toddler)
2) The 'Lore'. Forgive me for using that mmorpg term. I mean the background story you get when hovering various systems. A very nice touch. Not to mention the GalNet.
3) The devil in the details. Look around your cockpit, check out your pilots constant muscle stretching. The terminals. The day we get to rise up from our chairs and see whats behind door A, I'm going to be seriously jealous of the VR crowd.
4) The puzzles that don't underestimate our collective intelligence. If we're talking 'immersion' - the term that is now deemed negative by the less imaginative dudes - It is mirroring society; only a handful commited brainacs devoted to the task will solve the mysteries the rest of us can't (or couldn't be *****).
5) The meta. Yes it is often at the negative end of the spectrum, but we keep analysing, debating and discussing various mechanics of the game.
6) The traffic controllers. I can't stretch how much that add to the experience when you've been out in the void for weeks and come back to a friendly voice calling out your name.
I could continue but I'm bound for Hutton to sex up the wear-and-tear and grab some mugs. Shoot me.
o7 fellas!
