...But this happened to me today, what a rush!

Hoping for better NPC message content in 1.3, like...

Well I hope 1.3 truly does revamp the mission system. The other political additions from 1.3 ,choosing sides doesn't bother me, its just a twist up and reskin of community goals really. Please please make missions 100% better and I'm glad mining has been improved, might give that a blast too. One things is for sure tho, based on the last updated, I think we're looking at late evening/night before the 1.3 beta is released.

That is all.

Solo players? You gotta be kidding me.

The whole powerplay design is like it is because of solo players.
There are powers and no player run squadrons because of solo.
There are CGs for solo players.
The whole setup with player groups becoming powers is that way so that the solo players can join these groups without having to register on forums, talk to other members or anything similar that will break their precious illusion of being a not very unique snowflake in a vast galaxy.

When player groups will become powers, the control over these powers will be transferred into the hands of all players, organized or solo.

Powerplay is purely designed for solo players.
Non-solo players can and will influence powers as a group, and probably will have more influence than the solo players. If only because they create story content, identities, and will have more weight than a single player.

But saying this won't be solo player content is a misjudgememt of FD's efforts to create group content that will be accessible and playable for all the lone wolves out there.

I am with you here.... whilst i have no issues with powerplay, I am WAY more interested in any content which benefits the solo players as well as just the hive players as it were. Whilst I will no doubt dip into the politics of PP for a look, the truth is, I am not interested in it in RL so even less so in elite. What I am looking forward to is the supposed reboot of the actual mission generator itsself.

on top of that the unltimate thing i want are the tier 2 NPCs who I can make relationships with as well as possibly hire for crew, and then ofcouse the thargoids.. I am not expecting them for 1.3 but maybe 1.4 and 1.5.

please not i am not whining, i am fully enjoying what i have already for now.... just so long as the above comes at some point this year i am happy ;)

Absolutely agree. The highlights if 1.3 for me are the mission overhaul, better AI, pilots in cockpit seats, the Imperial Courier and portraits of leaders, but not Powerplay itself.

I am so much hoping for better and improved NPC interaction as FDs next big goal after Powerplay. Stuff like NPC wings, NPC contacts, NPC comms and above all persistent NPCs. Like you said, Mike, those would affect ALL players on a more direct and immediate way, not just the metagame and not just of those who mainly engage in multiplayer and faction play.

I'm not so much interested in the IntraPowerPlay apparently dividing governments beyond recognition.

I'm rather looking forward to all the minor changes that come along the way :)
Be it Mining getting revived or Turrets or Mines finally becoming useful... I like the small stuff that improves/fixes long-standing issues.
That's actually what I want as well. I don't need massive content updates...besides more ships that is. I'd rather see improvements to current game systems. This like the mission system revamp has me more excited than these major powers. I just have a fear they will be no more interesting than the minor faction progress bars we've been paying tug of war with since the beginning.

But we do need some sort of progression besides credits...since credits can only buy one thing in this game.

I kinda sorta agree. Having a strong metagame is very important, but I am most looking forward to actually hunting down targets in supercruise and interdicting them.
