400 Billion stars or systems. English or American definition of Billion. I know this is a huge number. I studied Astronomy, I know the Milky Way is a big old place.
I played the original Elite and Elite 2. Space was big back then as well.
Not until playing Gamma did it really hit home how vast our playing volume is.
I love the game, I have no complaints, I'm happy with the direction it's headed and the tweaks which are made.
I love the look, sound and gameplay.
I'm enjoying a bit of casual exploration, offing the occasional pirate and a little bit of trade, all subsidised by some missions.
(Gush over)
However, it would be nice to see where I've been in the past. I've tried searching the forums but to no avail. Does anybody know if there's a way of displaying in the Galaxy map systems visited. If not does anyone think this would be a good feature? Maybe have the visited systems highlighted with routes travelled in a different colour perhaps like the trade routes with all other systems dimmer to retain a sense of scale. This would also be useful if I wanted to revisit a place of interest.
I also wanted to plot my own map while offline, just for geeky fun and maybe some long distance journey planning, so does anyone know of a decent FREE 3D coordinate plotting program, which importantly needs no real programming skills to use.
